Embracing the evolving energy landscape is crucial as we navigate new technologies and policy shifts. The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)'s Integrated System Plan (ISP) sets the stage with robust data and predictive models to guide the journey forward. While focusing on large-scale infrastructure and renewables, the ISP acknowledges the rising influence of distributed energy resources including rooftop solar, batteries, EVs and the impact of electrification. ? To address these dynamics, the Centre for New Energy Technologies (C4NET) launched the Enhanced System Planning (ESP) Project in 2023, which provides a comprehensive, evidence-based framework for integrating distribution systems insights into whole-of-system planning. ?
