If you’re ready for your next career opportunity, don't miss this event! No need to register. Remember to bring copies of your resume. Get ready for the fair at our prep workshops: Navigating the Just-In-Time Career Fair 9:30 to 10 am, JC Meeting Room B Get quick tips on how to find employers hiring for the jobs you want. Job Searching as a New Grad 10 to 11 am, JC Meeting Room B Learn the three-step process for finding and connecting with prospective employers. Make progress on your job search and leave with a strategy for success. Bring your laptop or other device to access online resources. Resume Studio 10 to 11:30 am, JC Meeting Room A Drop in at the Resume Studio for personalized assistance on your resume before the Just-In-Time Hiring Fair. Bring your laptop to update your resume in time for printing before the fair. Interviewing and Salary Negotiation 11 am to noon, JC Meeting Room B Learn what to do before, during, and after an interview to demonstrate that you're the best candidate for the job.

Expanding your network should be a priority in your job search Attending virtual career fairs is a great start to help you meet with prospective employers & learn more about opportunities they have Here's how to properly prepare to attend with more confidence ?? 1. Register + Research: Register early so you have time to learn about the companies attending Check out their company website and search online for other relevant information This will help you prepare questions to ask during sessions most especially for any 1 on 1 sessions 2. Update Resumé: Employers may request copies of your resume to learn more about you as a candidate. Make sure your resume has updated info & aligns with the role they are looking to fill Be sure to specify your achievements & proofread for spelling and grammatical errors 3. Check Your Tech: Virtual career fair rely on stable technology to run properly Test that your tech is functioning BEFORE the event. Be sure to have: ??A stable internet connection ??A functional webcam ???An efficient microphone So you can be seen and heard clearly 4. Prepare Your Pitch: Before attending the virtual career fair, think about what qualities you want to highlight verbally Put together an “elevator pitch” about yourself — A short overview about your background, studies, & career goals. Practice with a friend or family member 5. Follow Up: Head to the company website and apply to open roles that interest you / you're qualified for Email your new connection thanking them for speaking at the fair you attended. You’ll be able to ask deeper questions and get better information if you already have some background to work with 3.?????Pack Your (Small) Bag: Bring at least 20 copies of your resume, a pen and paper for taking notes 4.?????Dress for Success (and Comfort): Wear a lightweight outfit that won’t get too hot, and check your coat or leave it behind During the Event: Don’t Be Shy: As you approach each table, be friendly, be confident, and be prepared with something to say Prepare for the Type of Interview: Employers can conduct interviews in different formats and settings.
