Recently I participated in SIH's internal hackathon. It was more like the ideation phase of a project. Our problem statement was to do something to identify defects in the Science Museum's machines. We came up with a solution to make a robotic bird that would analyze thermal defects by thermal sensors, and internal effects by radiography, and visual defects by computer vision. Things I learned regarding teamwork and management from it. 1) In teamwork don’t be yes yes use Critical Thinking and Analysis to see what other people would see, and mistakes around them and discuss them with teammates and improve them. 2) If you have assigned work to someone don't look at what he is doing, it would give you stress. Look at the progress over time. Give your mates time.

I wrote this question for Outliers today, does anyone know the answer? If you are in my Edge-Runners Hackathon you will. It is what we will be building. Cheers Mike When working with base number systems, one way to reduce computational cost is to avoid base number conversion. This can be accomplished by using a decimal number construct that matches the length of the base system under consideration. When working with base-14, the base-10 system can be used to represent it by skipping numbers not in base-14. This is accomplished by using a double-digit construct. For example, 1D in base-14 can be represented as 0113 in base-10 where 01 is 1 and 13 is D. Numbers other than 00 to 13 are skipped. Using this construct, determine what is the first number of the 3rd set to be skipped that is invalid in the base-14 counting system. Hint: For example, in base-2, only 0 and 1 are valid digits, so numbers containing other digits are skipped. The first three sequences of numbers that are skipped in base-10 that are invalid in base 2 are numbers from 2 to 9, 12 to 99, and 102 to 109. Similarly, in base-14, any number containing digits outside the valid range of our construct (00 to 13) is skipped.

?? 24 Hours. Non-Stop Innovation. Endless Learning at Hack with GDG :S2!?? From November 7-8, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in Hack with GDG :S2, a 24-hour non-stop hackathon hosted by GDG KSRIET—and what an unforgettable experience it was! From ideation to implementation, it was a high-energy sprint fueled by coffee, creativity, and the sheer drive to innovate alongside talented peers. Key Takeaways: ?? Teamwork: When the clock’s ticking, collaboration becomes your biggest strength. Tackling challenges alongside a dynamic team made each breakthrough even more rewarding. ??Innovation Under Pressure: Crafting real-world solutions in such limited time pushes you to think outside the box, and we did just that—transforming ideas into action at lightning speed. ??Growth: More than just coding, it was about expanding our perspectives, learning from each other, and stretching our limits. Each moment was an opportunity to grow, adapt, and push beyond comfort zones. Thank you, GDG KSRIET, for this incredible experience! Excited to channel this momentum into future projects. ?? #Hackathon #HackWithGDG #KSRIETGDG #Innovation #Teamwork #Learning #Growth #TechCommunity?

I'm thrilled to announce that our team emerged as the first runner-up in the Satwa hackathon organized by Saintgits College of Engineering (Autonomous) focused on preventive healthcare! The theme of the hackathon centered around "Preventive Mental Healthcare", and our project tackled this challenge head-on with an innovative solution aimed at promoting mental well-being and resilience. Our project involved the development of an advanced AI system, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as large language models (LLMs), Large Action Models (LAMs), and image analysis. Key Features of Our Solution: Comprehensive Mental Health Support: Our solution assesses users' mood, tracks emotional well-being, and analyzes personality traits through text, image, and voice interactions. Personalized Insights: Leveraging large action models (LAMs) and LLMS, our solution provides personalized recommendations and support tailored to each user's unique needs and preferences. The Mistral model was fined tuned for this purpose. Innovative Mood Analysis: The integration of the LLava model enables mood assessment through image uploads, enriching our understanding of users' emotional well-being. Proactive Intervention: Our solution includes features such as alerting emergency contacts in case of suicidal thoughts, enabling users to call emergency ambulance services, and providing details of nearby hospitals and doctors upon request. Accessibility: We chose WhatsApp as a platform for our solution as it's widely used among all age groups, ensuring ease of access and inclusivity. It was a 36-hours long hackathon , and we had our moments of ups and downs during these 36 hours, but we stuck together and kept pushing each other. I'm incredibly proud of our team's hard work and dedication. Huge shoutout to these incredible guys: Rajat Sandeep Milan Suman Reenphy George
That's fantastic news! Congratulations???????? to the team from SJCET and their members Reenphy George, Allen Saji for winning the First Runner up prize (25K) at the Satwa National Level Hackathon held at Saintgits College of Engineering, Pathamuttom!

Super exciting to see people exploring using LLM agents in NatSec! It’s still extremely intimidating for Silicon Valley AI startups/hackers to venture into the DoD/NatSec space, so hackathons like this are crucial. Also, an unintentional byproduct of LLMs being able to quickly generate a bunch of good code is…hackathons can be limited to 1 day while still delivering solid end products/projects.
Amazing stuff happening at #SCSPTech x AGI House x George Mason University Hackathon tonight! We just wrapped up the presentations, stay tuned to find out who wins!

?? Thrilled to Share My Experience at BIA's WebCade 2024 Hackathon! ?? I recently had the amazing opportunity to participate in the 12-hour Hackathon at St. John College of Engineering and Management on 14th September 2024 as part of team Bytewave . This experience was an incredible blend of learning and fun! ?? During the hackathon, I gained deeper insights into how projects come to life in real-time environments and the importance of teamwork in achieving success. From brainstorming solutions to coding with my teammates, every step was a learning curve. It really opened my eyes to new perspectives on problem-solving, and I am now more equipped to tackle challenges head-on. ?? Key Takeaways: Collaboration is key – working with my team made me realize the power of diverse thinking. Real-world problem-solving – developing solutions under pressure in such a short timeframe was exhilarating. Continuous learning – there’s always something new to discover when surrounded by brilliant minds. Not only did I leave with valuable knowledge, but I also had a blast connecting with like-minded individuals and pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation. ?? Big thanks to St. John College, Institute of Analytics, and all the organizers for making this event a huge success

Some numbers from the day: - 1.2 trillion tokens sent to the models - Over 300 hours of collective problem solving - Highest score was 75.6% - Avg. score was 61.3% - Cost and Quality were the metrics including (faithfulness, answer correctness, context relevancy, context recall, context precision, and cost efficiency) Measuring and benchmarking are critical for great systems engineer when incorporating LLMs and other new models!
Yesterday we hosted our annual hackathon during our Summer Summit. The goal for our 60 engineers was to create the most accurate RAG pipeline across a mass of documents, measured by a curated benchmark that took into account accuracy, cost, performance, etc. Any model was fair game, any RAG technique was fair game, any pipeline was fair game. Everyone had a great time and created great solutions with the real-time leader board constantly shifting. But despite the engineering prowess we have in-house and the use of the latest LLMs, no one achieved a perfect score on our benchmark. I was reminded that as various forms of machine learning and AI models mature we can't take our engineering hats off and pretend they're magic. They are wildly useful, nondeterministic, and sometimes make outlandish mistakes. Great systems engineering should include these models as part of many solutions. They are an incredible new tool in our toolbox, but until we achieve AGI they are only a tool, not the tool.

Last weekend we did a "hackathon" but just with a couple friends - All credit goes to Matthew Steele for organizing. Here's what I learned: We've been hackathoning every day for the past year and a half. That's right. The hackathon just felt like another day. ?? Anyway, what I really learned was the importance of building with friends. My room is set up so well for building - I just get out of bed and I'm right at my computer with a triple display and a great view. But still, I was more efficient at our "hackathon." Bouncing ideas of one another, especially when we are all in similar stages of development, is incredibly beneficial to growth. TLDR - go outside, touch grass, talk to friends Great time building with Rohan Mathur, Yash Dulla, Ishan Sheth, and Jakob Knudsen. __ Hi I'm Aadhav ?? ! I'm a biomedical engineering student at Georgia Tech, and founder of custom orthotic AI CAD engineering automation software company Stride Labs.
