Harish, what a great way to explain working together! Using simple ways to bring team bonding and relating it to real life.... lunches at school or family dinners at home is the most relevant examples! Superb way to express! Congratulations

Harish, well argued. Sharing a meal is one of the most ancient rituals for bonding, trust, and collaboration. As we get even more busier with our lives, losing ourselves to virtual connections (aka social media) we forget the essential insight - that moments have to be lived through human touch and with all our senses. Your article reinforces an ancient wisdom - that many great things happen during a meal together. We really need to continue to make real connections, rather than digital ones.

Dear Harish, it is indeed very true! All of us eat together in the office, and have very interesting discussions while sharing delicacies with each other... this greatly encourages bonding and team dynamics!

Precisely, office lunches with colleagues and even office parties offer good platform for open heart interactions, thereby battering paradigms at all levels, besides becoming avenues for cultivating new ideas!

Agree with you, but how does this align with the theory of dedicating our lunch/tea time for our body solely and no discussions.

Absolutely true. Even if not on a daily basis, potluck once in a while brings people together.

I used to work in a day school in Mumbai where 30 of us in staffroom used to connect over short recess and long recess on the dining table placed in the centre of staffroom. Presently , I am in a residential school at Dehradun where I have to sit on a fixed place with couple of students whose places are also fixed for a year on my table. After 10 years too, I am still nostalgic about the staffroom lunch in Mumbai. I miss those light, laughing, destressing , unwinding moments of day school.

It began in school and I can relate to the bonding it created. A saying goes- a family that eats together stays together. Can't be any different in workplaces. Simple and a wonderful way to take me down memory lane! Food is bridge For a team to stay strong and long.
