From this morning's log entry: 6/17/2024 Per the below, stock market breadth is absolutely abysmal… While we’ll remain open minded (and last year the market rose amid often-week breadth) history – when we’ve seen this magnitude of breakdown – does not support a happy ending: #economy #economics #macroeconomics #markets #investing #money #hashtag #business #federalreserve #monetarypolicy #centralbanks #inflation #marketoutlook #financialmarkets #stockmarket #equities #valuation #SP500 #interestrates #bondmarket #commodities #realestate #homeprices #foreignexchange #financialanalysis #profits #earnings

With the Fed’s recent rate cuts, our?Director of Investments?Stephen T. tells Jeff Benjamin where opportunities might lie for investors. ? “As we look across the belly of the curve today,?it’s incredibly flat where investors receive a very similar level of yield for 2, 5, or 10-year treasury bonds, but with increasing levels of interest rate risk,”?Tuck said.?“In our view, the front end of the curve is still the better place to be, and to be significantly adding duration to bond portfolios today would be chasing the curve.”? ? Tuck suggests that instead of adding traditional duration, focusing on mortgage-backed securities may still offer investors value. Long-term investing offsets short-term volatility Investing for the long term is one of the best strategies for offsetting short term market volatility, participating in stock market growth, and achieving positive results. Financial markets can quickly move in and out of favour. For example, when stocks are rising, bonds may decline in value; equities and other investment styles may perform better in different market conditions. Staying invested ensures you are always capitalizing on the upside of the market and reducing the impact of short-term market volatility. Although short periods of negative returns occur fairly frequently the following chart illustrates that, more importantly, the probability of receiving a positive return greatly increases as the investment term lengthens. #FinancialPlanning?#WealthManagement?#RetirementPlanning?#FinancialProtection?#FinancialSecurity?#InvestmentStrategy?#FinancialWellbeing?#WealthStrategy?#WealthGrowth?#SmartInvesting?#FinancialAdvice?#FinancialEfficiency?#wealthmanagement?#wealthbuilding?#investments

John Hussman put out a new report titled "You Can Ring My Bell". For those familiar with his work. you'd know that he tries to quantify the level of risk in the equity markets relative to historic evaluations. His work is better construed as a big picture view of current market internals rather than any short-term trading call. His signals have been pointing out how "rich" currently the U.S. equity market is relative to history; keep in mind that markets can remain "rich" or overvalued for longer periods of time. I'd urge you to invest the time to read this latest report, as he points out just how extreme some of his readings have become. His tone, backed up by plenty of great factual statistical information, is more urgent than usual. No matter your market outlook, especially based on the long length of the cycle since the March 2009 GFC bottom, it is important to view today's market from a historical perspective. I look forward to your feedback on the topic. #equities #investing #markets #economy https://bit.ly/3XMknFp After reading the article, the concept of the importance of the "sequence of returns" in investing, particularly for retirees living off of their invested assets, becomes very urgent. Here's an article that helps explain the significance: https://bit.ly/4e5QOVh

How People Fail in the Stock Market? Lack of Diversification Investing all your money in a single stock or sector can lead to significant losses if that area performs poorly. To succeed and increase cash flow: ?? Spread your investments across various sectors. ?? Include a mix of asset types (stocks, bonds, ETFs). ?? Regularly review and adjust your portfolio to maintain balance. Diversification reduces risk and increases the potential for stable returns and consistent income. #PersonalDevelopment #StockInvesting #Wealth
