??Great weekend at OTF Momentum??Thank you Judy for allowing me the opportunity to go! Learning from the most successful studios in the nation was absolutely wonderful. There are a ton of things to implement into my studios, but there are some key takeaways that I found the most influential. Be a Present Leader:?? You don’t get to run a successful business if you’re never seen, heard, or your employees don’t know that you exist. Be open and honest with everyone about what you do and how you do it. Leading by example is paramount to success, others WILL follow. Unreasonable Hospitality:?? Make every experience special. Taking care of the little things everyday makes a major impact. It may be as little as knowing the names of customers, taking time to learn about their lives, or even going that extra mile to do something special for those people. Customers drive business, and it takes work. Expecting your business to grow without putting in work is ridiculous. Take Care of Your Team:?? Lend a helping hand. Your employees don’t want someone to bark orders at them, they want someone who cares for each of them. When you take care of your employees, they take care of the business. Leading with respect should be the absolute expectation. Having set a goal to get to all 30 MLB stadiums, there are certain ballpark atmospheres that stand out amongst the crowd. Wrigley, Oracle in San Francisco, and Fenway Park are a few that come to mind. One of the biggest takeaways from going to these ballparks is that the energy of the crowd tends to get magnified when fans are together. These fans are still enthusiastic, passionate, and optimistic when watching a game from home. But, when they are in the stadium with all of the people that share those same traits, it becomes a non-stop party! This holds true when dealing with workplace dynamics too. Roles tend to require specific skills and as a result those skills might be more natural to certain personality styles. While not all engineers in the automotive industry are Owls (Detail-Oriented, Logical, Systematic, Questioning), there are likely to be an abundance of Owls in that specific position in that industry. Where one employee might be logical and questioning on their own, putting them in a room with people who share the same style only magnifies that. Decisions might take a long time as they have to be reviewed from different perspectives. But, the decision would probably be a good one as they would check, re-check, and check again.

This programme has given me the opportunity to do introspection not only on a professional level but also a personal level.
