Nothing is more important to me than safety. Every employee deserves to return home in the same condition they came to work - safe, healthy and injury-free - everyday. June is National Safety Month, and I'm glad to know each of our Paper and Packaging sites have observed site safety weeks throughout the month to further emphasize the importance of being safe both at work and at home. I appreciate the leadership and dedication shown by our safety leaders, mill and facility managers, and converting managers with organizing these activities. But our commitment to safety doesn't stop when Safety Month ends this Sunday. Safety is first - and always - in everything we do. As we prepare to celebrate national holidays in both the U.S. and Canada, I encourage you to put safety first not only at work, but in your daily lives outside of work. ?? Maintain situational awareness. Stay focused on your task or activity, and be alert to any hazards. ?? Use personal protective equipment to avoid burns, cuts, scrapes, and more. ?? Stay hydrated and as cool as possible in warm environments. ?? And, celebrate responsibly with your loved ones.
