Thought provoking @Trevor Ncube. One thing I have been reflecting on is whether or not as a nation we are as educated as we think we are. If we are as educated as we claim, would our streets be full of litter the way they are? Would we be so bad at driving that we do not understand how we all benefit if we give way at robots? Would it be as common to see men relieving themselves in the streets when public toilets are nearby? If we are as educated as we claim, then where is that transformative innovation from within that results in new products? New patents? New ideas for the world to follow? Just my thoughts, but it seems we are literate, rather than educated from the way we behave as a nation.

Zimbabwe’s Enemy Within My experience at Rowan Martin is what takes place daily in central and local government offices. Members of the public are humiliated daily as they go about their business. Did you know that nearly a third of the global population relies on methods of cooking that expose communities and the environment to hazardous pollutants? In fact, the International Energy Agency (IEA) issued call to action for universal access to clean cooking. This week, IEA is convening world leaders at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris to discuss making this year a turning point for progress on ensuring clean cooking access for all. ? GTI Energy is proud to be part of this global effort and committed to making low carbon, low-cost fuels accessible to all communities. We are excited to be?exploring multiple pathways to renewable LPG by developing our own technologies as well as supporting the technical development of other people’s solutions as all routes will be needed. Our Cool LPG technology produces renewable liquified petroleum gas?(bioLPG) from local waste feedstocks, providing a drop-in renewable fuel for heating, cooking, and transportation with a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditional LPG. We have a global licensing agreement with BioLPG LLC to accelerate Cool LPG development?and help scale up commercial volumes of low carbon LPG production. We are also collaborating with our?UN-backed?partner?The Global LPG Partnership, to ensure?efforts to transition large populations in the Global South rapidly and sustainably to LPG molecules for cooking include the benefits of lower carbon Cool LPG technology. **Resolution for Pakistan’s National Day** On Pakistan’s National Day, I, Imran Naseem, urge the Government of Pakistan and all provincial governments to make a resolute commitment to eliminating large signboards and wall chalking across the country. This initiative should involve the following detailed steps: 1. **Legislation and Enforcement:** Implement strict laws to ban large signboards and wall chalking, ensuring clear guidelines, penalties, and fines for violations. 2. **Public Awareness:** Launch a comprehensive campaign to raise public awareness about the importance of this initiative through media, social media, and educational institutions. 3. **Implementation and Monitoring:** Local authorities and municipal bodies should actively monitor and enforce these regulations. Special teams should be formed to oversee the campaign and ensure compliance. 4. **Fines and Penalties:** Enforce heavy fines and strict penalties for those who violate the regulations to ensure long-term adherence and prevent repeat offenses. 5. **Community Involvement:** Engage citizens, local organizations, and businesses in promoting and supporting this campaign to enhance community participation and responsibility. By adopting this resolution, we can contribute to a cleaner, more beautiful, and prosperous Pakistan, aligning with our national values and aspirations. Imran Naseem

I never really realized the impact of #public participation until I became part of the process myself. We have always viewed public participation as a formality. We always assume that what the drafters propose passes automatically. We have spent several weeks drafting a constitution that would be well suited for the association, for the YALI RLC EA Alumni Ke . And finally we got to the public participation. We have put in place plans to have the process be fully and totally inclusive:in person and virtually all across the country. Let me say, I am not surprised at how much people are willing to take part in issues pertaining to them. This process has also challenged me to always make an effort to be part of the process and to also always put in the effort to have beneficiaries be part of the process as well. We may not realize it immediately but that little comment you add, will be etched in the books of history. See what our democratic constitution is doing for our country now. Simple terms : #WeThePeople, #SHALL, #MAY. #Constitution Let your term/opinion be heard, let it be recorded... Maybe one day, who knows.
Did you miss last week's YALI Kenya association proposed constitution review public participation? Here is your chance again. Don't miss out on the grassroot public participation drive. It is happening in your county chapter. Look out for more details in your respective chapter groups. 2nd Week of Public Participation Date : Wednesday, 24th July 2024. Venue and Time : American Corner, Maktabaa Kuu, Upperhill from 2:00pm You can also join virtually: https://lnkd.in/dXVkgfSg Or leave your feedback here : https://lnkd.in/dekFeC8v Attached is the proposed constitution for your review:https://shorturl.at/vDHH2
