#DidYouKnow since the start of 2023, Latvian residents have donated over €500,000 through reverse vending machines (RVMs) to various charitable causes? ?? Here are some highlights: ?? 36% of donations (€182,261) have supported Ukrainian children and refugees ?? 36% (€180,092) have gone to animal shelters, helping 2,410 animals in 6 shelters across Latvia ?? 16% (€82,309) have supported seniors in need, providing essential daily goods and medical services ?? Additionally, the "Age is Not Lonely" project at Lidl stores has raised over €51,000 for seniors. This generosity highlights how deposit return systems (DRS) not only promote recycling and environmental cleanliness but also generate meaningful social-economic outcomes, including additional revenue streams for charities and other non-profit organisations.
