At the moment, most of them are still pretty annoying and clunky, but soon we could step into virtual environments that not only look realistic but also respond to their actions in real-time. These two statements in the OpenAI technical research paper lead me to think that Open AI aren’t creating “video” as we understand it today, but something different… Open Ai are seemingly building the platform for space time video and world simulation in real time. This means hyper realistic procedural VR / AR / MR on the fly. This is a fundamental shift in context and content. Brilliant.
