This incredible initiative was part of the Solar2Share program (https://solar2share.com/), which connects renewable energy companies with educational and healthcare institutions to bring the benefits of solar power to those who need it most. For this special project, Photonica proudly donated the mounting structures, helping turn this vision into reality. ?? How can recycling cell phones help forests recover from wildfires? Every year we see the destruction and devastation caused by the increasing number of wildfires. Due to increasingly frequent and severe periods of heat and drought, as well as plenty of fuel on the forest floors, many of these fires are burning out of control and turning into megafires. Every e-Cycle client has the ability to choose whether or not they would like to use the funds generated from recycling their used, mobile devices to make a tax-deductible donation to the Arbor Day Foundation. If you're wondering what to do with those eclipse glasses now, here are three eco-friendly options: Donate: Consider donating your glasses to organizations that redistribute them to schools and communities in need for future eclipses. Recycle: Remove the lenses and recycle the cardboard frame from your glasses. Unfortunately, the lenses themselves aren't recyclable, so dispose of them properly in the trash. Reuse: As long as your glasses are compliant with the ISO 12312-2 specifications and the lenses haven't been damaged, they can be used for a later eclipse!
