???Notice of Funding Opportunity from NASA's Next Gen STEM Program: Next Gen STEM’s Teams Engaging Affiliated Museums and Informal Institutions (TEAM II) program has announced an upcoming FY2024 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) that will expand the current program from a two-tier to a three-tier system by adding a mid-level funding tier. The NOFO is expected to be released in the third quarter of FY2024 (April-June). The new mid-level funding tier was created in response to feedback from the informal education community. The new “STEM Innovator” tier will fund awards of approximately $250,000. In addition, the highest tier award will be designated the “National Connector” award and fund initiatives up to $900,000.?The “Community Anchor” tier will continue to offer awards up to $50,000. The Community Anchor tier opportunity will be offered each fiscal year, and the STEM Innovator and National Connector tiers will be offered in alternating years. The FY2024 NOFO will include the Community Anchor and STEM Innovator tiers and the FY2025 NOFO will focus on the Community Anchor and National Connector tiers. By adding the mid-level tier, NASA and Next Gen STEM aim to broaden the number and type of awards made to Informal Education Institutions for creating innovative, NASA-inspired programming for K-12 students and their families. Looking to gain knowledge and expertise in the area of STEM Education? Look no further! The NASA Endeavor Certification program will provide you with relevant and specific philosophies on STEM education and as well as a clear picture of a fully STEM integrated school. I have gained valuable knowledge on teacher leadership and how to build a curriculum that supports my colleagues as well as assist in working towards STEM integration across the curriculum! I have used what I have learned in this program to develop Engineering Design Challenges that incorporate authentic data and NASA resources. Community College Students: The deadline to apply for Mission 1 of the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) is June 10! NCAS has 3 sequential missions. Mission 1 is a 5-week, self-paced online course. Students will gain a broad knowledge of what NASA has in its current plan and how they can play a role. STEM based activities embedded in the online course include live and recorded subject matter expert lectures, interactive multimedia on NASA content, interactions with fellow aerospace scholars, knowledge assessments including a final project, and guidance and support from trained professional educators. To complete the NCAS application: 1. Sign up or Log in to the?NASA STEM Gateway. 2. Explore Opportunities?for?College STEM Experiences. 3. Apply for?NCAS Mission 1: Discover.
