What would you do? How would you solve the following riddle? Dave has a BSEE with 5 years experience in Company XYZ. Dave has spent his whole 5 years with XYZ and have been a good engineer and has received annual salary increases. He has a base salary of $120k. Wanda also has a BSEE with 5 years experience but was just recently recruited from Company ABC to now work with Company XYZ. Leaving Company ABC, Wanda had a base salary of $115k but was offered $130k base to join XYZ. The reason is simple 900/1000 job applicants are not suitable for the job they are applying to either in terms of skills, salary, work experience, qualifications, behaviours, domain expertise. Many just apply to every job. It is very tough to find the 100 most suitable candidates among the 900 applying to the job. Imagine sifting through 1000 cvs to find the right candidate. The other strange thing is many candidates lie in their cvs this makes it even tougher to find the right candidate. So even AI cant find out. Recent college grads are unemployed but tech grads like #aviationmaintenancetechnicians are not only highly sought after their starting pay is $60k, according to the Aviation Technician Education Council latest pipeline report. It also reported within 5 years they are making up to $120k. That's a solid basis for getting the American Dream. Boeing latest commercial market report shows a global need for 674,000 #pilots; 716,000 #aviationmaintenanceengineers and 980,000 #cabincrew for 2.4M new personnel total. Intimidating numbers. And that does not even include the personnel needed for #advancedmanufacturing meaning #workforceshortages will continue for the foreseeable future. The other thing this The Wall Street Journal report indicates is the entire hiring process is broken.
