Our Girl Scout Promise & Law encourage us to lend a helping hand and be a sister to every Girl Scout. In response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, many of our Girl Scouts have stepped up to provide support and assistance to those in need. ?? ?The girls from Troop 96026 collected food and blankets for the Humane Society. ?The girls from Troop 33108 organized a food drive for their neighbors who lost their food due to power outages. Additionally, they worked with a local organization, Seeds of Hope, to deliver the donations to those in need. ?Evelyn from Troop 50006 helped clean her and her neighbors’ yards after Hurricane Milton. She also picked up debris, branches, moss, parts of fallen fencing and roof shingles. Lastly, she helped organize planters for new plants and bushes and laid down some new pavers. ?Ava, Emma, Maddie, Avery and Zoe from Troop 50553 helped a local church sort and organize donations that were available for impacted families to "shop" for free for items they had lost in the storm. ?Girls from Troop 50051 cleaned debris at Shepherd Park in Zephyrhills. ?Olivia from Troop 33343 helped clean up debris around her neighborhood. ?Sofia from Troop 32003 helped pick up trees, branches and leaves into piles at her and her neighbors' houses over the course of four days. She also helped rake and sweep debris from her lawn and driveway. ?Josephine, Victoria and Alexandra from Troop 75110 picked up tree debris at their neighbors’ houses. ?Alivia from Troop 50114 gave sandbags to a local subdivision after Hurricane Milton and cleaned up her neighborhood. ?Cecilia from Troop 33222 participated in a clean-up at her local softball fields. ?The girls from Troops 31801, 31822 and 31816 cleared debris from driveways and neighborhood streets, organized a Halloween costume drive for kids whose homes had been severely damaged, ran a Halloween STEM event and donated some of their belongings to children in need. ?Evann from Troop 1415 made bracelets and sold them, with proceeds donated to her school district's hurricane relief fund.
