A Purposeful Habit Every quarter, I set aside some time on a Friday in the third month to review my progress using the Developing Leaders Altitude Map, inspired by the work of David Allen Company. This tool captures my purpose, vision, goals and live projects. Taking time to reflect on what I’ve learned and adapt my goals is something I’ve come to value deeply. Making this task into a habit has been very helpful and motivating. I prepare my desk with fresh coffee, coloured pens and good-quality stationery. Drawing the altitude map is part of the ritual, and creating an environment I look forward to working in makes all the difference. The result is a framework that allows me to choose my actions and areas of focus with confidence that are the best ones to take me forwards towards my vision. This February, I’ll be facilitating a workshop with my great colleague, Albertina Teague, where we will support a small group of individuals who aspire to set inspiring, motivating goals that reflect their true values, beliefs, and purpose. The workshop is designed to give participants the tools and insights they need to build a meaningful and actionable framework for their goals. Once aligned correctly, they create a functional, larger whole. Use every part—initially, the ‘moon bit’ seemed unnecessary as they aimed to create circles, but when we use every bit, the magic happens.
