The Time Is Always Now We are all busy and it's easy to feel that there's no room for one more commitment. But you should challenge yourself on that assumption. Volunteering your time or skills to organisations or chairities can be a catalyst for change. If not now, then when? And if not you, then who? In a world where time is a precious commodity, dedicating even a small portion to a cause you care about creates a ripple effect that hopefully improves your little corner of the world, an industry or a profession. The question lingers: if we postpone this decision until we're less busy, will the opportunity still be there? The truth is, the need will always be there, but it grows out of control every day that we ignore it. Organisations are in constant search of fresh ideas, input and your most valuable commodity- time. Your precious time donated today, leaves a legacy that can have impact many years into the future. It's not merely about squeezing in one more commitment; it's about weaving a thread of positivity into the fabric of our lives. The impact of your involvement can extend far beyond the immediate moment, leaving a lasting mark on individuals, communities, and society as a whole. Challenge the notion that you'll find time later. Instead, find the time now – because life is short and who knows how many tomorrows you get. Find a cause or causes you believe in, and join that movement to give back, and collectively shape a brighter future through our shared contributions. I echo what Stephen has said. Our volunteering day at St Luke's Charity Shop in Crookes, Sheffield was indeed "hard work, but fun." Spending the whole day on our feet was quite tiring for those of us who usually sit at a desk... More importantly, it was a real eye opener too, highlighting the following points: 1). How much effort goes into running a Charity Shop, particularly behind the scenes. 2). How much money is needed by St Luke's each year in order to keep doing their fantastic work. Total required this year is ￡14 Million. NHS funds 25% so that leaves c.￡10.5 Million to be raised through donations, legacies, retail shops and other activities. Many thousands of Sheffield folks will have their lives touched in some way by St Luke's. So if you can spare your time to volunteer, or are able to donate (either cash or unwanted items) then please give generously. You will be supporting a great cause! https://lnkd.in/euze8eyi
