There must be balance. What makes the U.S.A. so great is maintaining a civil balance. We support & respect certain principles & values instead of simply reacting based on emotions & agitation. We do this so the good doesn’t unknowingly become undistinguishable from evil. If not we know as humans we can easily rationalize evil to be good by saying the ends justify the means. Crap load of guys in prison using that defense. We the people need to uphold the standard & value system that has created our nation & stop giving service to power hungry people distracting us by manipulating our emotions & agitating our most basic animalistic nature. Be the best you can be & expect the same from our elected officials & more since they must represent us all. Help truly wake the people by example so we can get this ship back on course. Make words like integrity, honesty, pride, honor, respect etc etc mean something & hold EVERY AMERICAN especially leaders to a higher standard & level of accountability. #dpdp1g.

?????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????? ?????? ???????????? ?????????????? I served in the Marine Corps from 1974-98...was a SSGT prior to commissioning. In my opinion, the Corps could have benefitted from training like this back in my era. I think any leadership, character and ethics training should be seen in a positive light, and not dismissed by older Marines simply because "Back in my day, we didn't need...blah, blah, blah." Also, unlike in some eras past, it is common for many Marines to remain LCPL's for the majority of their 4-5-6 year enlistments due to incredibly high cutting scores in some MOS's. This means that many "senior LCPL's" are placed in roles normally calling for Corporals and Sergeants. I think it makes sense to train and equip them for such roles. Finally, in an era in which our society is plagued by an overall lack of integrity, accountability and ethics, I applaud any training the Corps provides that can help Marines evolve from what they've been exposed to for the first 18 or so years of their lives, into what the institution needs and expects from them. ???????????????? ????????????: Corporate America can learn from this example shown by the Marine Corps. My most cherished lesson of history relates to Stalin and the GDR (East Germany). In the lead-up to the GDR's establishment, Stalin spent some long years purging the German Communists who had sought refuge in the USSR during WW2. By the end, the tiny German remnant were people who had: - stayed in lock-step with the regime, and - supported the purges by throwing other Germans under the genocide bus. This tiny remnant became the founders of the new regime and the Stasi. Many of the issues faced within the GDR can arguably be attributed to the lack of flexibility and creativity (and skills diversity) of these "leaders". The lesson is this: when a ruling class is established by the removal of diversity, unless it is dominating a very small system, that homogeneity and inflexibility will become a set of vulnerabilities. Of course, none of my readers are Stalin. But diverse ways of seeing, thinking, creating, and analysing are not just ideologically pretty: they are necessary. We fill each others' gaps. We teach each other... If we're smart enough, that is. And flexible enough. And open enough. Heck, even democratic enough. Anyways thanks for reading. Let's try to make something good.
