Our award-winning research team will take the stage to present cutting-edge advancements in firmware security and embedded systems analysis, tackling some of the biggest challenges in the cybersecurity landscape. ??Representing our REsearch team: Takahiro Haruyama: Unveiling innovative detection methodologies for UEFI bootkits, one of the most persistent and evasive threats in cybersecurity. Includes research on infamous bootkits like Lojax, BlackLotus, and MosaicRegressor; identification of common code characteristics such as hook chains, persistence mechanisms; and development of the methodology for generic detection techniques based on code similarity. Lukas Seidel: Introducing SAFIREFUZZ, a breakthrough framework for fuzzing embedded ARM firmware. Includes research work on fuzzing ARM Cortex-M firmware to demo a framework that provides a 690x throughput increase on average during 24-hour fuzzing campaigns while covering up to 30% more basic blocks.
