Boeing restarts 777X test flights after five-month delay
After a five-month coffee break, Boeing’s 777X test flights are back in action. The drama began when one of the 777-9 test planes revealed a thrust link issue during maintenance.
The problem spread out, popping up in two other test aircraft, prompting Boeing to hit the pause button.
After some wrench-wielding wisdom and a seven-week staff strike, Boeing declared, "Thrust links fixed, lessons learned, let's fly!"
On January 2025, a 777-9 soared from Seattle for a two-and-a-half-hour test, proudly declaring, “I’m back!”
Boeing now promises a rigorous test program to prove the 777-9’s reliability.
