Open Enrollment Tips: Don’t Let It Slip Through the Cracks This week, I had two eye-opening experiences that really made me stop and think about the importance of clear communication during open enrollment season: A young professional shared that when she started her new job, she didn’t realize there was a specific window to enroll in benefits. She missed the deadline and now, as she prepares for her first child, she won’t be able to make changes to her benefits until January. She simply wasn’t aware of the timelines and processes. Another young adult was struggling to navigate open enrollment and felt overwhelmed by the terminology and variety of options. He was close to opting out of benefits altogether because he couldn’t make sense of the choices and the information overload. Key Takeaway: Open enrollment is crucial, but for many, especially younger and less experienced employees, it can be confusing and overwhelming. During this season, as you elect benefits for 2025, take extra time to check in with your team—especially those who may not have gone through the process before. Whether it's a lack of experience, technical challenges, or just the sheer amount of information, offering support can make all the difference. Pro Tip: Don’t just focus on your work team. Reach out to family members, particularly younger or older relatives, who might need a hand navigating their own open enrollment decisions. A little guidance goes a long way! #OpenEnrollment #EmployeeBenefits #WorkplaceSupport #HRtips
