It is a real pleasure to share new results on development of the optical version of the Utah array, the Utah Optrode Array! The paper highlights updates to fabricating the device for better optical stimulation delivery to deeper cortical tissue, while maintain the spatial and temporal precision afforded by optogenetic tools. The ability to activate specific cortical layers and the use of this capability for visual systems neuroscience research is explored. Thanks so much to the BRAIN Initiative, NINDS, NEI, and NIH for supporting this work! https://lnkd.in/ewbSAfSk
