CHALOTE ???? When I found our Easter giveaway this morning, my favorite thing was the name tag written by my bosses’ 7 year old son. He insisted on helping his dad. One of the company #values of edding is “#trulycaring”, which you find in a lot of little details in our every day working day. It’s also one of the main levers of the profit-for strategy: truly caring about our planet, about people, about your colleagues, about doing the right thing, about edding, too. Company values should be the North Star of any company to guide a strategy, KPIs and OKRs, decisions and also the little things in your way of working and co-working. ?Which company values do you have? ?Where do you see them in your ways of working? #values #livedvalues #companyculture #profitfor

Proud comms mom (TM) over here after witnessing my seven year-old run her first lemonade stand. This girl crushed her communications and marketing approach: ?? Audience: "Let's put the stand in front of the (neighborhood)?pool because?more people walk by there than our house." --> this is true ?? Differentiating message: "We can tell everyone the pool snack bar is closed so they should get their refreshments from our stand!" --> this is also true, the snack bar was in fact closed - the girl did her market research. ? Timing: "Let's do it at 3 o'clock when everyone gets out of camp and goes to the pool!" --> busiest time of day during the week at our pool. ? Channels: She didn't stop at making a sign and menu - she chalked the sidewalks in both directions so people?could anticipate her presence, and her verbal promotions were on-message. ?? The result? She sold out in under an hour and exceeded the financial goal she set ($20 to donate to her Girl Scout troop). She also initiated her own performance assessment at dinner, noting what she'd done well and what she'll do differently next time (make more lemonade to serve more customers). This was a great (and very cute) reminder to meet people where they are and to make sure your message speaks to what your audience needs and wants. I’m fairly bad about sharing what exactly I do as Snow Day on here. I know that because I get asked regularly “so, what exactly do you do?” ??and tbh… I don’t have a great answer. It’s really just a conglomeration of things I love. I’ve spent a lot of time giving back to my community since I was in high school. Through volunteering and working for nonprofits I’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for causes I’m incredibly passionate about. I’ve helped save lives by coordinating blood drives. I’ve taught hundreds of Cub Scouts how to fish for their first time (????). I’ve even helped the corporate companies I’ve worked with on ways to give back and be part of their local communities. And I’ve also created. Oh man I’ve created so much, and with so many incredibly talented people. I’ve managed million dollar marketing budgets, I’ve led creative workshops, I’ve designed everything from wedding invites to field activations for some of the largest brands and companies in cannabis, and I’ve created a festival from an empty warehouse. I’ve written and given speeches and done so much copy work that I’ve had no words left in me at the end of the day. I’ve gone on live TV and been grilled by a news anchor. I’ve traveled the country representing clients at tradeshows and I’ve sweated my ass off in the middle of cornfields working festivals. And I coordinated the first downstate consumption event *at a winery* for cannabis professionals in Illinois. I’ve created, and I’ve created memories. And I’ve also learned a lot of lessons. I’ve been laid off 4 times, and it’s hurt every single time. I’ve been the topic of conversations I wasn’t part of and my intentions have been questioned more than once. I’ve been told my personality isn’t professional and that I’m “too nice” to work in certain industries. And through all of that I’ve learned that I don’t give a shit what anyone has to say or think about me, because I know I have always and will always approach everything I do with love and fun. And that’s where Snow Day came from. It’s a conglomeration of everything I’ve done and the lessons I’ve learned in an attempt to keep doing it, but in my own way. To approach each opportunity I get like a Snow Day: full of possibilities and an opportunity to make memories doing things I love with people I love. I still don’t know how to answer you if you ask me what I do, but I do know that whatever it is I do for my clients, I want everyone who works with me to feel like I took a weight off their shoulders, like an unexpected Snow Day. ????

Towards the Goal! ?? ? ?October is the most suitable month for a walking challenge??, with the goal of collecting 15 million steps ??across the department and allocated amount donate to an animal shelter???????I wanted to contribute to this good initiative and try to stay in first place for at least one day????♀? but one day turned into the whole month challenge????♀? Here’s how it went??: ??First Week: It felt easy and exciting. I was full of energy and motivation. ?Second Week: The challenge got tougher, my motivation dropped, and I started questioning myself: ??Why keep going??What if I just quit?? ??Third Week: I found answers to my doubts, teamed up with others, and counted down the days until the end. ??Fourth Week: I got sick at the worst time but kept going, thinking that fresh air and exercise might actually help me get better?? ??Reflections: this wasn’t just about walking; it was a chance to learn about myself. Setting goals isn't always easy, but here’s what helps me: ??Break big goals into smaller parts. ??Understand why the goal matters to you ??Keep motivating yourself and deal with doubts as they come. ??Share your challenges; it’s okay to seek support. ??In the end, how we face the challenge decides the result: WINNING NOT GIVING UP?? So, guess where I put the comma??? ? ??This challenge tested my limits and taught me valuable lessons about persistence, planning, and the power of working together.

I went back to uni this weekend to attend the Strategic Marketing module, as part of Bayes Business School’s extremely effective alumni programme – and it’s not just lectures, there’s even a lounge with aircon on the 7th floor! One of the most engaging talks was by Jayne George from the RNLI who spoke to us about its success with integrated fundraising campaigns. Her explanation of how they go to the core mission statement of “To save every one” was really empowering and I’d highly recommend getting to hear her in person – I couldn’t do it justice here. There were also some fab ‘takeaways’ from the rest of her talk and here are a few of them: 1?????????It starts with creating a unified mission that values fundraising as much as the operational activities – each relies on the other. A great deal of work has been done on the internal comms side of things to embed this culture. 2?????????Developing strong, inspirational messaging is also crucial. RNLI’s “Perfect Storm” campaign is a prime example of effectively communicating challenges and needs. Engaging donors with personalised and heartfelt communications that connect emotionally has boosted engagement and support. 3?????????They used a multi-channel #strategy combining direct mail, digital media, press inserts, and door drops, to maximise reach and impact. Tailored communications to specific donor segments, improved engagement and led to significant increases in donations. 4?????????Data-driven strategies are essential. Leveraging qualitative research to understand donor motivations and barriers provides valuable insights for campaign development. Tracking and analysing campaign outcomes allows for refining strategies and improving effectiveness. 5?????????Revitalising legacy fundraising with a donor-centric approach has made a significant difference. Shifting to clear, simple and emotionally-resonant messaging landed well with their audiences. Consistently embedding legacy messaging in various donor communications has ensured reinforcement throughout the donor journey. The impact has been significant – over three years, RNLI has seen improvements in advertising awareness, positive recall, likelihood to donate and actual donations, demonstrating the power of a well-executed #communications strategy. For every accolade you see on the outside, there's a whole bunch of people and things that happened behind-the-scenes to make that happen. Case and point: This past Tuesday, Victoria Marshman & Dani S Kagan, Founders of Mave & Chez luxury ergonomic slippers (which, if you don't have a pair yet, GET. A. PAIR), invited me for lunch to help brainstorm the growth of my REUNION dance party with them. They sponsored one of our REUNION Dance Parties this Summer and left feeling so inspired and alive while saying, "What's your big dream with this? We want to help you make it happen". And so, this Tuesday, we did just that. They offered a ton of amazing ideas. Suggested a list of people I should connect with + offered to connect me with them, Then paid for MY lunch. I walked away thinking: "Huh?!?!!?" How, and why did that happen? It felt too good to be true. But, building and growing REUNION is showing me the true value of community and collaboration. And, that, when you build something straight from the heart, and lead with integrity, people WANT to help. In just 10 months, we've been able to celebrate a lot of wins with REUNION, including a huge feature on Narcity this week. But, one thing I know for sure, is that none of this would be possible without all of the people and support that happens behind-the-scenes.
