Pickleball Positive Attitude As with any sport we all start out not knowing anything about the game and we are a bit nervous when we inquire about how to join in and play. If you are an experienced player sit and think for a moment about the first time you stepped onto the court. Did someone greet you and welcome you or did that person tell you that you do not belong or that you are just not good enough? Wow, that hurts. Pickleball is a friendly social event, so if you are playing against a weaker player do not drive the ball at them but practice your weak shots. Give positive feed back to the rookie and play for fun and not just to win. If you are one of those people who goes home and tells your better half that you won every game then you have a bad attitude. Your attitude should be WHO DID I HELP TODAY. Attitude is everything in life, so think about who you are when you play. Cheers Graham Hall Level II CPTP

Elevate Your Game: The Pickleball Principle in Business Just as in pickleball, success in business relies on choosing the right partners and fostering a supportive environment. Here's how to apply the 'Pickleball Principle' to your professional life: #SelectYourATeam In pickleball, your partner can make or break your game. Similarly, in business: - Surround yourself with talented, motivated individuals - Seek out mentors and peers who challenge and inspire you - Build a network of diverse skills and perspectives #SupportYourSquad A great pickleball partner has your back on the court. In your career: - Be the colleague everyone wants on their team - Offer encouragement and constructive feedback - Celebrate others' successes as if they were your own #BetheGameChanger In pickleball, one strategic shot can turn the tide. In your professional life: - Look for opportunities to make a significant impact - Be ready to step up when it matters most - Remember that your contribution could be the tipping point for success By applying these principles, you're not just playing the game – you're changing it. Surround yourself with greatness, be a pillar of support, and position yourself to make that game-changing move. In business, as in pickleball, it's not just about who you are, but who you choose to play with. Make every interaction count, and watch your professional game soar to new heights. A critical strategy in pickleball is to get to "the kitchen" (the No Volley Zone line that is 7 feet from the net) to be in an offensive position and win the point. This is easier said than done because 3 of the four players on the court start the point at the baseline and have to make their way there. It's especially challenging for the serving team because they have to wait for the return of serve to bounce before they can take it - and by then both of their opponents have (probably) moved forward and are in an offensive position. There are various strategies for how to get to the line, including a drop shot into the kitchen that gives you time to move forward. This shot isn't easy and if it's not a good shot, the other team can take advantage of it and keep you back. So, often times you have to be patient and make successively better shots to be able to move forward. Today, I'm pondering just how much patience and communication is involved in making this transition, and how well we have to respond to our opponent's shot. It's one of the many things I love about pickleball - solving a problem with a partner in the midst of play. You MUST be great communicators, strategists AND executors to win the point. Writing my First Book + Guiding Thought Leaders and their teams into building Successful Brands | Marketing and Sales Coach??????| StoryBrand Certified Coach ?? | Future Best-Selling Author ???
Pickleball is harder than you think ?? (And apparently has nothing to do with pickles) This past weekend some friends and I celebrated Alex Ream’s birthday at an event+glamping space just south of Austin. They had this pickleball court and we decided to host a lil tournament. Never having played ever, and my partner never having played ever, let’s just say…. We only made it to the 2nd round of the tournament. ((And we had a 1st round bye ??????)) I love ping pong and venture to say I’m pretty good. So after being told it was very similar to that, I started to get the hang of the game, only for us to lose 30 seconds later. 7-0-1 something something? Idk haha. - - - ?? But it got me thinking about when we try new things that are a little difficult. Sometimes we have the tendency to quit and give up on it. ((( Or maybe that’s just me ?? ))) Like when I did sales for the first time: Hard —> but got good Like when I worked at a church: Chaotic —> but got good. Like when I started speaking in front of crowds for the first time: Scary —> but got good. Like when I started writing poetry and short stories and posting them on the internet: Nerve-racking —> but got good. So I guess my point it, a lot of time, good is just on the other side of hard. ——> Any skills that you almost gave up on but you eventually got really good at?

Types of Players in the Dugout There are so many different types of personalities on each team we're on: - those that want to win - those who could care less - those who just want to have fun Whether you're loud, you keep to yourself - or you just want to play the game and get better - it doesn't matter. What DOES matter: the worst type of player to be around in the dugout are the ones that can't handle failure. The best players are the ones that are 4-4, or 0-4 and remain the same guy. Thinking about 3rd, 5th, 7th shots today... and how this process of execution, strategy and communication feels a lot like what dynamic work teams do on the daily.
