?? LCI, one of our #aerospace subsidiaries, and Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company, Limited (SMFL), via their joint venture, announced an order for up to 21 latest generation #helicopters from Airbus. ? ? Consisting of 14 firm orders with the option to add up to 7 more, the order includes light twin H145, medium twin H160 and super medium H175 helicopters. The new helicopters will be delivered through to 2028, and are aimed to meet operational needs in critical areas such as emergency medical services (#EMS), search and rescue (SAR), and #offshore energy, including wind. They offer superior performance, flexibility, and lower CO2 emissions than comparable types and other transportation modes, and will also be capable of using blended Sustainable Aviation Fuels (#SAFs). ? This marks the next phase of the pioneering Flight Path partnership between LCI and Airbus Helicopters, which aims to address the long-term capacity and financing requirements of the industry in a responsible manner. Flight Path builds upon a 20-year relationship between LCI and Airbus, and the initial phase will see the committed delivery of at least 7 latest generation Airbus helicopters by 2025. ? ?? LCI has a diverse fleet of approximately 350 aircraft operational or pending delivery. Currently, this includes 40 Airbus helicopters deployed by 12 operators in over 10 countries across the globe on a range of missions, all of which align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs), emphasizing LCI and SMFL’s long-term commitment to #sustainable growth. ?? First Airbus H160 enters US service with PHI Aviation The first Airbus Helicopters H160 has entered US service with PHI Aviation. The aircraft is the first of an initial four H160 deliveries that will be tasked with offshore transport in the Gulf of Mexico. Before starting commercial operations, the H160 will fly a route-proving programme designed to demonstrate the Airbus H160’s capabilities in the demanding offshore environment. The missions are designed to ensure the operator and final customer are familiar with the helicopter’s advanced systems. Scott McCarty, CEO,?PHI Group?described the entry into service as an exciting milestone.?“The H160 represents a new era for PHI, enhancing our commitment to safety, quality and efficiency for our operations in the Gulf of Mexico,”?said McCarty.?“We are proud to officially welcome this next-generation aircraft into our fleet as we kick off route-proving.” Bruno Even, CEO,?Airbus Helicopters?said the H160 has set a new standard in the helicopter industry.?“The H160’s lower fuel consumption, its ability to use up to 50% blended SAF, comfortable cabin, and excellent cockpit visibility make it ideally suited for offshore operations and we are confident that it will excel in PHI’s energy missions,”?said Even.
