Obviously, the first line of this take is meant to be bait, but there's a lot of interesting stuff here. Do I agree with it? Not necessarily, but it's worth discussing. Content creation is a different skill set than design and copywriting. There are people who think in social media scripts and who can take better videos on their iPhones than I can with my camera. If I needed someone to run my business's Instagram, I probably wouldn't hire a copywriter either. Social media content creation is a very specific skill set, and traditional copywriters just don't have it. That said, I probably wouldn't want a "content creator" writing my billboards. I certainly wouldn't want them writing the script for my commercial. The same can be said for graphic design. A kid with a Canva account can accomplish a lot, but if I need someone with real design savvy, I'm going to have to go to a proper designer. I've worked on social media campaigns, and I've worked on full-service advertising campaigns. They are fundamentally different and require very different skill sets. If I were a social creative director like Breanna, I'd probably not want someone who only has a writing skill set. They're going to need to excel at the things content creators excel at. When I'm working on a campaign that extends past social media, I would want specialized graphic designers, copywriters, and individual content creators. Hire teams for the projects you have, and don't expect one person to be capable of everything.
