The TechForce Foundation's recent research on the supply and demand in technical careers found that diesel technician completions from post-secondary training have been falling since their peak in 2017, but rebounded 1% last year. The solution to closing the supply and demand gap is engaging with students early. When we have key moments in our lives like applying for apprenticeships, graduate roles, or choosing on a new career path, it’s important to remember that success isn’t solely dependent on our efforts. One of the most powerful ways to invite barakah (blessings) into what we do is through Sadaqah (charity). Our Prophet Muhammad ? said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Sahih Muslim) Sometimes we think that giving diminishes what we have, but in reality, Sadaqah opens the doors to increased rizq (provision). When you give, Allah replaces it with more, whether that’s in wealth, new opportunities, or blessings in your career. When you’re choosing your career path, don’t underestimate the impact of Sadaqah. Giving regularly, even if it’s small, invites tremendous blessings into your life and work. Tbh, In such a competitive job market, we usually do everything we can to stand out, so why not incorporate Sadaqah into your routine, you not only help others but also set the stage for success, with Allah’s assistance.

Apprenticeships are not about: ?? Forcing someone in to a programme ? Being offered to only 'top right' performers 1?? A one off learning experience Apprenticeships are about: ?? Continuous Learning ?? A collaborative partnership between us, the charity/organisation and the learners ?? An impactful option for all staff, not just those who are the high performers ?? A cost-effective learning and development opportunity using apprenticeship levy (or gifted levy...did you know we won an award for our work on that?!) We work directly with #L&D and People Leads, along with the Department Heads to decide what the right apprenticeship is for your learners and charity strategy. It is not about just having 1-2 learners from a large organisation ad-hoc, as you will struggle to see impact. Just one more day of an exilirating week working with the STFC apprentices at #RAL Exploring how our Insights colour preferences have an effect on everything we do. Creating fun in learning with an exercise to design a poster to advertise a charity chocolate egg hunt, which tends to go: ??big & bold, straight to the point. They have their own ideas & just carry on with little checking in. This group normally finishes first - making it a competition. ??lots of talking before pens get anywhere near the paper. Not so many images but lots of detail, including the sat nav postcode. ??everyone has an input, they check in constantly to make sure everyone is in agreement. They all draw at the same time & make sure the poster covers something for everyone. ??lots of talking, increased excitement as the ideas flow. Lots of images, but they forget the date, time & place. Ever had to pick something up and learn as you go? Found this book yesterday on my shelves, bought for a few quid over ten years ago as ex library stock. (Now so old the 'further information' section has postal addresses and not websites). I was working in marketing for a small charity and needed to get involved with some fundraising projects. So I bought a book and got learning. This approach isn't always the best and apprenticeships can really help here. They can support the transition of someone into a new role and provide structure to their development, gaining more formal knowledge of concepts alongside building skills. If you're in the charity sector and know a new fundraiser, please point them in my direction. Apprentify is recruiting their next cohort of fundraiser apprentices currently. We work alongside The Juice Academy to give learners access to trainers who are current industry professionals and really know their stuff. ??Time to let this book go? EQ supports small businesses and charities with our levy gifting initiative.? ? We’ve pledge an initial ￡50,000 of our unspent levy to support small business and charities to upskill their people and to support new apprentices. Our first gift is to Innov8, an education charity based in Suffolk, who support young people aged 11-16 who are finding life a challenge. The team at Innov8 provide young people with a host of skills including joinery, mechanic, and woodwork to music, cookery and photography. They also upset their tutors with qualifications to support.? ? Our gifted levy funds will fund four tutors to complete the learning and skills teacher level 5 apprenticeship!??? ? How does levy gifting works?? ?
