?? Stealthily, I’ve been working on something really special the last six months. I can’t believe I get to write this, but this past Spring, I became the proud owner and CEO of GOODONYA Organic Hydration! ?? Earlier this year, Sara Brooks and Eric Meyers gave me a call telling me I needed to talk to Kris Buchanan about her brand, GOODONYA Organic Hydration. I’ve been really interested in the hydration space for a while and always wondered why there weren’t more organic, clean options – rapid hydration is great, but what about something I can drink daily, all the time? Since Jen and I had our girls, we had (mainly Jen) been on the prowl for something family friendly that we could all drink with no dyes or artificial flavors, and GOODONYA really fit the bill. After talking to Kris a few times, I think we both realized there was something there. I was so impressed with her, as well as the businesses she had been building, and the vision for the future felt clear together. We met up for a round of golf (she is an absolute stick ? ) to get to know each other and for me, that sealed it all. In a whirlwind, we spent the next month working through the details and formed a new entity together called Organic Hydration?, which she is also a partner in, solely focused on growing the brand like the product – in an organic, steady way. Though don’t let our approach fool you; we have big ambitions and have already almost doubled in size the last few months. I was very fortunate to have longtime collaborators Nicole Gardner and Bill Kelly who quickly joined me in diligence, then active roles in the business, and now as partners in the new entity, along with some amazing friends: Mark Ramadan, David Sherry, Michael Gorman, Eric Meyers, Sara Brooks, and Heather MacNeil Cox.?Very thankful Alexandria Polk took a leap and joined us full time over the summer as well. I also want to thank Ravi Sadasivaiah of Cohn Handler Sturm for the support on the accounting side and Charlie Bennett of Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. for all of the legal work in the transaction and Steve Sereboff of SoCal IP Law Group LLP on the IP side of things.?
