Trust is at an all-time low in our country. Because trust is at the core of philanthropy efforts, it is imperative that health care philanthropy teams address this unfortunate trend. A lack of trust leads to patients not seeking care, not believing they are receiving the best care possible, not investing in their hospitals for fear their money won’t be used wisely and even unwillingness to help neighbors to effect change for the better. There is, however, encouraging news. Those of us in philanthropy can combat this growing trend of distrust and move the needle to a more positive state. We are natural connectors and relationship builders. Let’s use our innate skills to turn this trend around. Ready to report your impact? Don't forget! One Voice Central Texas (OVCT) is launching a "Day Without a Nonprofit" campaign in celebration of National Nonprofit Day in August. This campaign will highlight the crucial role that health and human service nonprofit organizations play in ensuring the safety and security of individuals in Austin and the surrounding areas. In order to do this, our research fellow needs input from EVERY health and human service nonprofit in central Texas! Our survey window is now open, and will remain open until March 18. This 5-minute survey will ask you to select one day within the week of February 18-24, 2024 on which you feel your organization had the MOST impact. Please be prepared to answer a few questions about that day. For those whose direct services are largely drive/campaign focused, you will have the option to select a date from the past six months on which your impact is more substantially represented!
