Fundraising truth I believe to my core. Donors don't just give to causes; they invest in change. Donors want to make a meaningful difference but cannot do so without social enterprises like nonprofits. This means we need to show them how their support transforms lives. Here are two effective ways to showcase donor impact: -Prove the long-term change they create by giving (through impact reports, videos, etc.) -Give your donors a shared identity. Some popular examples of shared identities are: -Community Builder -Rainmakers -Modern Day Abolitionists If you want to take it a step further, try to frame their giving as something that aligns with the people they aspire to become. Hey nonprofits, we’re in Q4 of 2024! I’m sure you knew that. How has your giving been so far? Here are some end-of-year tips for you: 1. Most years around the holidays, in-person giving increases. Make your physical presence known as much as possible. Go table in places with high foot traffic or go door-to-door. 2. A lot of people are looking to escape the stress of the election and put energy into a good cause. Give them a cause to celebrate and a way to feel in control. 3. Make the ask. Data from GivingTuesday suggests that "donor fatigue" is more related to the quality of messaging and engagement than to how often people are asked to give. Give them meaningful opportunities to make a positive impact. 4. Make sure it’s easy to donate monthly. Is your website set up for that? Has it been tested recently?
