As a top energy-producing state, New Mexico’s oil and natural gas industry plays a critical role in supporting both the state’s economy and U.S. energy leadership.

Over the August recess, Energy Citizens have been actively engaging with legislators, participating in public hearings, and spreading the word about the importance of reliable, affordable American energy. Some key highlights include: ? ?? Kickoff Events: Energy Citizens in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Colorado marked the start of August Recess with kickoff events. Members of Congress participated in these gatherings, which sparked meaningful discussions on key energy issues, like grid reliability and powering artificial intelligence, and successfully recruited new volunteers. ? ?? Public Hearings: Energy Citizens made a significant impact at the New Mexico Water Quality Control Commission hearing on water reuse from oil and gas production. With 18 speakers and numerous written comments, their voices were crucial in shaping the conversation on responsible resource management. ? ?? Local Engagement: In Loveland, Colo., Energy Citizens provided 80% of the public comments on updated oil and gas regulations, underscoring the strong support for our industry. Additionally, a "Honk and Wave" event in Pennsylvania saw local advocates rallying support outside Congressman Chris Deluzio's office, demonstrating community solidarity. ? ?? Each event, and the effort and commitment from Energy Citizens, reflects our collective drive to support and advance America’s oil and natural gas industry!?

Alongside Executive Vice President and Chief Advocacy Officer Amanda Eversole, I've been honored to lead an API - American Petroleum Institute delegation to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago to represent an industry so crucial to America’s strength. ? Global demand for #oil and natural #gas will only increase for decades to come, and it was a privilege to explain the imperative for keeping the United States the leading producer of both essential #energy sources. ? As we did at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last month, API built bridges with convention delegates and policymakers. We were also able to point out the environmental and economic benefits of our industry, as well as the critical importance of maintaining America’s tremendous energy advantage.
