Glendale Growth Alliance: A collaboration between FoundersBoost Fund, Hacker Fund, and the Alliance for Southern California Innovation, this program will support innovation from idea creation through startup scaling. With public hackathons, accelerator programs, and venture pipelines, they aim to provide essential pathways for startups to thrive. ? Venture Building Program by SmartGateVC LLC: This program connects researchers with industry experts to transform groundbreaking ideas into successful products and companies, bridging the gap between academia and business. ? These initiatives mark a significant step in strengthening Glendale’s tech community, building on the success of previous programs like KidsX and Hero House. With 17 proposals received, the Selection Committee recognized these two programs for their strong potential and impact. ? The demise of San Francisco/Bay Area seems to have been over-stated once again... In 2024 startups located in the Bay Area vacuumed up $90 billion of VC investment in which was 57% of the $178 billion of global venture funding spent last year. This self-fulfilling cycle shows no indications of flagging in 2025, in part because the Bay Area still offers the largest concentration of skilled tech employees. Some 49% of all Big Tech engineers (often the startup founders of tomorrow) and 27% of startup engineers are located there, according to data from SignalFire. https://lnkd.in/gX9tWxB7

Most technology startups fail because they chase the wrong things. People focus too much on: ? Raising the biggest funding round ? Scaling at breakneck speed ? Building a product no one really needs But successful startups: ? Solve a real, painful problem ? Focus on sustainable growth ? Build a community of loyal users before scaling Technology startups are about: ? Building meaningful solutions ? Building trust with your market ? Building a foundation for long-term impact Remember: Your runway doesn’t matter if you’re sprinting in the wrong direction. The foundation is solving one problem exceptionally well.
