Cost cutting has long been used by businesses across industries as a way to boost profits, particularly during challenging times (e.g. during high inflation) But despite its undeniable influence on margins, it should not be seen as the single option to improve the bottom line Design to Value (DtV) is a proven approach which businesses can adopt to align cost optimisation efforts with product and service development, delivering optimal value to customers Talking about DtV is easy - implementing it effectively isn't. Below are 5 enablers to drive a successful DtV project: 1. Defining ambitious but realistic targets 2. Building a multifunctional team 3. Time boxing to focus efforts 4. Decouple risk taking from decision making 5. Ensuring strong senior sponsorship (e.g. MD / CEO)

Day 11 of #PMTermsForAll (Sprint). In product management, a sprint is similar to a relay race, where team members pass the baton to each other, working together to reach the finish line efficiently and effectively. Imagine you're part of a relay race team. Each member has a specific distance to run before passing the baton to the next teammate. Similarly, in product management, a sprint is a short, focused period, typically two to four weeks, where a cross-functional team collaborates to complete a set of tasks or features. During a sprint, team members work together like relay racers, coordinating handoffs and supporting each other to achieve their collective goal. Just as relay racers communicate and strategize to optimize their performance, product teams prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and overcome obstacles to deliver valuable outcomes. At the end of the sprint, like crossing the finish line in a relay race, the team evaluates their progress and celebrates their accomplishments. They review what went well and what could be improved, incorporating these insights into their planning for the next sprint. This iterative process ensures continuous improvement and progress towards the product's overall objectives. #ProductManagement #PMJourney #TransitioningPM #ProductManagementCareer #WorkInTech #PMTermsForAll

Great session at ePay Connect 2024 with Michael Foye and Orlando Santos covering the ins and outs of Product Management. So many FI’s operate without a dedicated product function, meaning ops, tech, or even sales may own the function. This is exactly the way to foster a “product mindset” regardless of job title. Great job!
