?????????????? ?????????????? ???????? ???? ???????????? ??????????????:???????????????????? ?????????? ???????????????????? In my senior project, I worked with my team to design and deploy a Smart Variable Speed Pump integrated with Wi-Fi, which improved operational efficiency and enabled remote management capabilities. As the team leader, this role allowed me to manage different team members, distribute functions based on their expertise, and ensure that all the objectives were met. This project not only deepened my understanding of variable frequency drive (VFD) technology and wireless communications but also expanded my knowledge of water pump systems and pipe fitting techniques. A critical aspect of the project involved strict financial and time management. We carefully planned and adjusted to meet our budget and timeline, optimizing resources and costs without compromising quality. This discipline was crucial in delivering a functional prototype that demonstrated potential for real-world application. Working with a diverse team provided me with essential lessons in collaboration, innovation, and project management. One of the most important lessons I learned is that simplicity in technology development beats complexity and sophistication. I advise any technology development team to strive to make it simple and user-friendly. This prototype was a significant achievement in both my academic and professional journey. This was a brief overview of our senior project and the valuable lessons I learned throughout the process. Now, I'd love to hear from you. What were the most significant lessons you learned from your projects or experiences? You may share your insights in the comments below!

Young project and field engineers should prioritise where they work based on this simple set of principles... 1?? Prioritise depth of experience over checking boxes on a rotation 2?? Prioritise roles that allow you to make many small errors sooner rather than big ones later. 3?? Prioritise companies that support you to become competent in many project types... rather than ones that squeeze you to be an expert in one. As Brian (Project Director at Martinus) puts it... Picture a graph plotted with time and experience. The steeper the line and the longer it grows, the better. ________________ Another pro tip... Verbally describing a graph is perfectly fine when communicating with engineers ??

YCOM’s greatest strength is the ability to fulfil all program requirements on-site. It operates a fully integrated facility that can execute the entire full vehicle process from the initial idea and design through to vehicle production and race-day trackside support. Enabling its services is a passionate staff working across all business functions, with up to 60% dedicated to engineering service. “We have everything in the same facility, fully integrated, end to end. This plays a significant role in our success, with open and ongoing internal communication that allows us to oversee and drive every aspect of the program. Feedback loops are shortened, engineers are more ‘hands-on’, and we can quickly alter part and system designs in line with our testing.” — Marco Merlin, Project Management Director. KISS (Keep It Super Simple) principal: - The job of CIO = taking care of the 'what' part and 'why' part. - The job of a development manager = the 'who' part. - The job of a project manager = the 'when' part. - The job of an engineer = the 'how' part.

How to have a holistic view of your team/organization/project as a mid senior engineer? - Understand the context behind your work. How your work fits into the team and organization’s goals/deliverables. How do you get this context? - One way is to attend meetings where work gets assigned to your team. These are typically attended by your manager and senior engineers. Ask to be a part of them. How do you ensure you get invited again? - Don’t be a liability to others. Don’t slow the meeting down. For the first few instances, write down your questions and follow up with your manager or senior engineer 1-1. Once you’re a regular in these meetings, you’ll have a better idea of when to ask questions, and what questions serve the entire group rather than just you.
