One of the most productive things I've learnt after joining the corporate world is planning my day. At the start, I used to get puzzled with so many tasks on my plate, despite being trained to be well disciplined by IBA. What I realized later was that I was not prioritizing my tasks well. Here are my three planning buckets for every day: 1. Red tasks (My most critical tasks that must be done at any cost) 2. Blue tasks (Tasks that need to be done on the same day but can be delayed till evening) 3. Green tasks (Tasks that if not done today, won't cause any damage or delay) Every morning before leaving for the office, I analyze my three buckets. I make sure any leftover green task has not been converted to a red task today. All I manage every day are my three buckets, and since then, I've never felt stressed or overburdened at my work, Alhamdulillah.

?????? Planning Ahead ?????? It’s the middle of August, and I hope everyone is finding time to get away from the desk, relax and enjoy the best of the Irish summer!! But autumn is not too far away, and we all need to give some thought to the last quarter of the year and what we need to do. I’m glad to report to you that Santa is already doing that, and I’m proud to say that he’s tentatively offered me a job! Well actually, LinkedIn in has suggested a job for me - working as an elf in Santa’s production plant in Longford! LinkedIn has suggested some interesting jobs to me in the last month or so, but realistically, I don’t think this one’s for me, so I think I’ll take a pass. But seriously, it’s good to see that Santa is looking ahead, looking at what he needs to do, and is building a team around him to make sure he meets those important year-end deadlines. We could all take a leaf out of Santa’s book!! #yearend #deadlines #planning #teamwork

Motivated by a colleague's recent post, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the short-term work experiences I gained during an unforgettable cross-country journey my wife and I embarked on in 2014-2015. With most of our belongings packed, we set out for California, where Kelsey had accepted a travel Occupational Therapy position, shortly after completing her program. At the same time, I decided to take a break from my Master's studies to embrace this adventure. This move was a powerful reminder that every new chapter, no matter how uncertain, is an opportunity to grow. This was the start of exploring as much of the country as we could in the short time we had at each location. I dedicated my days to applying for positions in the area and, after 2.5 months, secured my first role at a Grocery Outlet in Merced, CA. This experience taught me valuable lessons that continue to shape my approach to challenges: ?? Adaptability: Quickly adjusting to new environments is a skill I now apply to every project. ?? Problem-Solving: Moving across the country taught me to manage logistics and face unexpected challenges head-on. ?? Networking: Starting fresh requires building connections from the ground up—an essential skill in both personal and professional life. Have you ever taken a leap that transformed your career or perspective? I’d love to hear your story!

As we come to the end of November and into our busiest month of the year (as well as last) I think it’s super important to reflect upon BIG and SMALL wins ?????? My top 5 highlights have got to be: 1. Coming off the tools to run my business rather than being in the business. 2. Investing new equipment - a upholstery and carpet cleaner. We get to meet so many different businesses and people who we might not have been able to help before. 3. Learning new business strategies, networking and attending courses. (Being nominated for a national cleaning award) and having other cleaning businesses to lean on rather seeing them as competition. 4. Hiring our first ever admins assistant! It was way overdue and needed. 5. Registering our company as a Limited Company and becoming a Director. What are your big or small wins this year??? [email protected]?? 0330 043 6626??

Dear EA, I celebrate you and your work. This might be some tough love, so please brace up in advance. While you revel in the feeling that comes from being called “the real boss”, please also ensure that you have these critical attributes: - You understand the business of your business. - You are being involved in decision making to a decent extent. - You are good at people management. - You have transferable skills that add real value I’ve seen too many underpaid, underutilized, unsatisfied EAs who describe themselves as magicians, boss, etc. and enjoy these titles by others publicly but deep within know that something is missing. They realize too late that some of these titles when used by others was just to massage their egos. Do a honest self and skill assessment. If you’re a career EA, this is even more critical for you. Don’t grow in title and/or remuneration without a commensurate growth in value and skills. If you’d like an objective resource to start with, check out World Administrators Alliance Global Skills Matrix. If you are an EA who adds true value to business and helps your Executive save time and money, I salute you specially??. Keep up the great work! #executiveassistant #careerdevelopment

As we close one month and begin another, remember this: Confidence, consistency, and perseverance are key. Others may display these traits, but no one can match the unique value you bring. Always be yourself. Focus on showing up always, honing your craft, and building your confidence and resilience. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it. I'm still your strategic administrative virtual assistant, here to support you every step of the way. Thank God it's Friday. Love yourself and embrace the journey. Happy new month in advance and have a great weekend. #FridayMotivation# #LastDayoftheMonth# #NewMonthMotivation# #StayConfident# #BeYourself#

??An old story from Italy tells of a traveller who comes up to three stonecutters working in the hot afternoon sun. The traveller asks the first, "Signore, what are you doing?" The man replies, "I am cutting stone." The traveller then asks the second man, "What are you doing?" The stonecutter replies, "I'm making 100 lira a day." Finally, he asks the third stonecutter the same question. This worker replies, "I am building a beautiful cathedral." ===== What's your takeaway from this story? My takeaway is we usually go through something like each of the three men's views and experiences at various moments or time periods in our jobs. And depending on how the men in the story responds to their view of their job, their enjoyment of the work itself, the quality of their work and even the rewards that they get from their work could be very different. Perhaps all three men enjoy their work very much, produce great work and are getting good rewards from it. Or perhaps one or two of them do not enjoy their work, and are not doing good work, getting low income or rewards from it. The challenge for us is therefore, reflecting on ourselves, how can we improve the ways we SEE and DO our work / job so that we can fully enjoy our job, optimise the process of doing our work, its rewards and outcomes. ?? ??
