Advancing… Sustainability….. Through…. ….Particle Technology During a recent discussion with my colleagues, Marcela and Patrik we dove into the fascinating world of particle technology and electrochemical processes. They have untapped potential to drive sustainability. One topic stood out: the challenge of addressing nano-particles in wastewater. These tiny fragments, often originating from plastic waste, have become unavoidable and poses a significant threat to our ecosystems. The good news? The technologies to tackle this issue already exist. Advanced filtration systems by means of electrochemistry we have the tool to reduce and even eliminate nano-particles in water. The real challenge lies in scaling up. This requires collaboration between innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders. The path forward is clear: 1?? Invest in scalable solutions. 2?? Foster partnerships across sectors. 3?? Implement policies that incentivize action. What steps do you think are critical to scale such innovations? European regulatory changes like the new Battery Regulation or the upcoming Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation demand that batteries and products become more sustainable and circular. Milestones: ?? Within our strategy game, Webasto developed new opportunities for their battery solutions. By positioning itself in the circular ecosystem and identifying circular business models, the company is gaining a competitive edge. ?? In a multi-stakeholder battery project with BMW Group, SAP, Man Group, FUCHS Group and Circu Li-ion, LiBCycle GmbH, STABL Energy and tozero, Webasto develops, tests, and demonstrates circular solutions for the battery value chain and closes the loop for lithium-ion batteries, ranging from reverse logistics over hydrometallurgy to cell production. ??
