As we mark #WorldChildrensDay, it’s clear that ending violence against children is not just a matter for policymakers and governments—it is everyone’s business. From local communities to global organizations, we all share the responsibility to protect children, uphold their rights, and ensure they grow up in safer, healthier environments. At Grand Challenges Canada, we’re proud to spotlight some of the incredible innovations from our Saving Brains portfolio that are already making a tangible impact: ? Bandebereho: Engaging fathers in Rwanda to prevent intimate partner violence. ? Mama Ambassador Program: Supporting adolescent parents in Uganda. ? Ethiopian School Readiness Initiative: Providing holistic support for preschool children. Ending violence against children requires collective action. Let’s continue driving this crucial work forward to build a brighter, safer future for every child. ?? Thank you for highlighting our Mama and Papa Ambassador Program. ???? What is MAP? We train Communuty Health Workers so they can work with their local people - educating them about ANC, male engagement, breastfeeding, but also discovering cases of domestic violence, violence against children, mental health, and more. They not only drastically improve well-being of all family members, they also are the eyes and ears of BAMA in the community. They are proud of being ambassadors! Where needed, we send additional counselors and resources. Let’s end violence against children. It’s time to act now!
