I enjoyed participating in the Diverse Leaders in Tech roundtable earlier this week, with the laudable aim of sharing inclusion best practise between leaders of tech start-ups and scale-ups, so that the inclusion culture of these businesses are set up right as they grow. My key takeaway was again to reinforce the fact that inclusion is most valuable in business an enabler to other goals, rather than the goal in itself. Difficult to attract talent? Inclusion practises help but we don't need to give them this label. Don't understand the needs of your customers? Increasing diversity will help but again, we don't need to use that as the headline.
