Troop 125 from Coventry/West Warwick spent their most recent meeting learning all about Girl Scouts founder, Juliette Gordon Low. The Girl Scouts also shared their own fun facts about themselves related to what they learned about Juliette. Great job, Girl Scouts!

My church rents out part of its facilities to a pre-school. They have inspirational messages placed throughout the building. The first one that caught my eye said, "Word hard and be nice to people." What a simple, but powerful statement. And I think it's obvious that it's not just relevant to pre-schoolers. While we all hopefully try to follow that advice, let's be nice by recognizing another group of Nice Guys and Gals. Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals). If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EST on Thursday. There are only 3 requirements: 1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate 2) you can only nominate one person per week 3) you can’t nominate yourself ?? ? If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement. Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice. And hopefully. we'll all take a little break from working hard to enjoy Halloween. Have a great day, everyone. https://lnkd.in/e5H_2-wT ? #network #sportsbiz #people #niceguy #networking #sportsmarketing

https://lnkd.in/eznCyn3a MONDAY MORNING AND I'M WHINING NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH Rod, Jane, and Freddy – A Little Game About First Impressions Let’s play a game of “guess who showed up” this weekend when my agency needed people for a Saturday night shift from 10 pm to 6 am. (Bonus points if you catch the Rainbow reference!) ?????? Rod – 25, likable, cheeky, and lives the closest. Solid work history on his CV, a glowing reference, and only one quick bus ride to get to the site. Sounds ideal, right? Jane – 19, with very limited work experience, no references, and a 2-hour trek involving a bus, train, and tram to make it on time. Tough ask for a night shift, especially with Sunday transport schedules. Freddy – 21, good CV but with a questionable reference that didn’t respond. She’s also facing the longest journey—a 2-hour commute each way with multiple buses. So, who showed up? Answer: Not Rod! Despite the strong CV, good reference, and ideal location, he didn’t make it and had his mum message over 2 hours later saying he “couldn’t find the site”—even though he’d worked there three days earlier and its one of Scotland most Iconic and largest buildings. And Jane and Freddy? Both made it! Jane not only arrived on time, but she worked all night and waited for her 9 am train home since Sunday transport left her stranded after finishing at 6am. Freddy also managed the long commute and put in a solid night’s work, proving her dedication. It’s a reminder that in recruitment, the best candidate on paper isn’t always the one who’ll show up and go the extra mile. Sometimes, commitment can’t be measured in CVs, references, or proximity—it’s all about the person’s resilience and dedication. Who else has had a Rod, Jane, or Freddy moment? #recruitment #guesswhoshowedup #dontjudgeabookbyitscover #commitment #hiring #RainbowTV #goingtheextramile #perfectcv

“Whether you identify as a community member, ally, or future ally, there is always room for growth and education.” Thank you for such beautiful words Starrlee DeGrace . Being an active ally means making deliberate steps to self-educate and support those around you, those who could have a completely different experience than you (one that could benefit from ally like you advocating for incremental shifts that benefit everyone). One of the reasons I love celebration and awareness months is because there is an abundance of curated, thoughtful content to engage with. You can really dive right in. A great place to begin is with understanding the history of the land you currently call home, leverage this link to begin your journey. https://native-land.ca Take advantage of this intentional time.??

Not sure if map has any correlation to Pay-to-Play in the US youth sport system. As an example: Families spend an average of around $1,188 a year on soccer costs, and travel soccer can cost?$2,000 or more. That is why some sports are dominated by certain demographics or socioeconomically status which is not totally opposite in less developed countries (see soccer an an example).
hometowns of team usa love to see it (sorry north dakota)
