Gilbane Building Company and Flintco, LLC have formed a joint venture to build the first phase of the Convention District Transformation Project, announced by Houston Mayor John Whitmire. This incredible project will transform downtown Houston, bringing new energy and vitality and bolstering the city’s position as a global hub for sports, entertainment, and tourism. For nearly 40 years, the iconic George R. Brown Convention Center has been at the heart of the city’s convention and events landscape. This first phase of the project will expand the current facility to include 700,000 SF of multi-use space.
