?? Legendary football coach Vince Lombardi is famously known for storming into the locker room just minutes before his first game as head coach of the Green Bay Packers and had only the following famous and very important words to address his team to inspire them before hitting the field together. He said, if we are going to be successful this season “you will think of only three things: your God, your family and the Green Bay Packers-and in that order.” ?? Lombardi’s same advice could be preached to all of us in our professional career and business endeavors. Keep God, Family, and our careers/businesses in their right order and you will be very successful in your life. God bless you and your families, and Merry Christmas to all! ??????

This is leadership... Currently in AFL - Australian Football League world, there is commentary regarding Geelong Cats star Tyson Stengle's contract. Stengle was given an opportunity by Geelong at the end of 2021 to reignite his career. Tyson had somewhat of a troubled past, being 'delisted' by two other clubs for behavioural issues. So in a sense, you could say that Geelong gave Stengle an AFL football career lifeline. Since then, Stengle's form has been incredible, being awarded an 'All Australian' and winning a premiership. His services are now back in demand with a number of other AFL clubs. The commentary from some sources, both public and in the media, has been that Stengle 'owes the club' for the career lifeline it handed him, and should therefore not consider leaving the Cats. He should show loyalty. Here is what Geelong's coach Chris Scott had to say... "The part that I will stress is, Tyson's done the work. We gave him the opportunity but that was the opportunity to walk in the door," Scott said. "I would like to think that we have helped him, but we're not the sort of club that says, 'Hey mate, you owe us because we gave you the opportunity'. "We want the best for Tyson, not just while he's playing footy, but also post-footy as well. Part of that is him making sure he sets himself up financially outside of footy. "I can't see a time where we'll leverage what we've done for a player, we're not that sort of club, not those sort of people." This is the kind of leadership that builds trust and attracts talent. It's a cultural mindset, not a knee-jerk response to an individual case. The focus is purely on what is best for Tyson, from a career perspective and for life outside of work. I love this approach, and it's another reason why I think Geelong Cats is such a destination workplace, and one many other organisations can learn from. #leadership #care #wellbeing #talent #culture Image: National Indigenous Times.

True leadership often involves resilience, creativity, and the ability to adapt to challenges. Strong leaders will find ways to navigate obstacles, inspire their teams, and achieve their goals, even in difficult situations. This mindset is what often sets successful leaders apart—they focus on solutions and persevere until they reach their objectives.

Bill Bellichek was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Nick Saban was his defensive coordinator. THEY WERE BOTH FIRED ?? Bellichek went on to win 6 Super Bowls. Saban went on to win 7 NCAA national championships. Bellichek and Saban were NOT the problem. The Browns front office and culture were the problem. Someones inability to value your gifts, does not diminish your gifts. Go prove them wrong ??

Leadership on the Green: ?Neal Shipley’s Masters Journey: ???♂? Today, I want to highlight an example of leadership that transcends the boardroom—a story that unfolded on the hallowed greens of Augusta National Golf Club during the 2024 Masters Tournament. Neal Shipley, an amateur golfer from Pittsburgh, stood at the tee box, nerves and anticipation coursing through his veins. But what set Neal apart wasn’t just his swing or his drive—it was the man by his side, his best friend and caddie, Carter Pitcairn. Leadership isn’t about titles or corner offices; it’s about lifting others up, even when the stakes are sky-high. Here’s why Neal and Carter’s partnership exemplifies true leadership: Trust and Camaraderie: Neal and Carter have known each other for over a decade. Their bond extends beyond fairways and birdies—it’s forged in shared memories, late-night conversations, and unwavering trust. When Neal invited Carter to caddie at The Masters, he wasn’t just asking for help; he was entrusting his dreams to a friend. Leading by Example: Neal’s decision to bring Carter wasn’t just about golf logistics. It was a statement—an embodiment of the belief that leadership means standing shoulder-to-shoulder with those who matter most. Neal’s actions spoke louder than any PowerPoint presentation ever could. Embracing the Moment: Neal’s words echo the essence of leadership: “I feel ready. I like to feed off this energy and just really enjoy the moment. I don’t feel uncomfortable at all.” Leaders don’t shy away from big stages; they relish them. Neal’s calmness radiated, inspiring everyone around him. Let’s celebrate Neal and Carter. They remind us that leadership isn’t about solo performances; it’s about the symphony we create with our team. Whether you’re in the boardroom or on the 18th green, remember: true leaders lift others up, even when the stakes are as high as Amen Corner. #leadership #sports #golf #management #careers #inspiration #ceo

Anyone can quit when the going is hard, but a thoroughbred never quit until he/she wins The going is always hard on the road to greatness. If success were easy, everyone would achieve it NFL All-Pro lineman Brian Holloway recalled that when he was playing for the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Raiders, there was not a single day when he did not feel like giving up because the road was too tough and the sacrifices were too great He did not quit of course; he was willing to pay the price because he was determined to succeed. True thoroughbreds never quit. Competition only spurs them, and obstacles merely enforce their determination to succeed. If you have not yet achieved greatness in your life, it is because you have been willing to settle for less. You may not cross the finish line every time you try, but if you stay in the race, you will eventually prevail ?????????????????????? #NeverQuit #Perseverance #WinningMindset #Determination #Grit #KeepGoing #Resilience #MentalToughness #Persistence #SuccessMindset #OvercomeObstacles #StayStrong #NoExcuses #PushThrough #ChampionMentality #Endurance #UnstoppableSpirit #FailureIsNotAnOption #RiseAbove #WinnersMentality #ThoroughbredSpirit #FightToTheFinish #EmbraceTheStruggle #StrivingForGreatness #InnerStrength

How do you know when you’re doing a good job? For Robbie Deans, the answer is surprising but simple, “It’s in the eye contact.” And that’s not just on the training field — it’s everywhere. Whenever you’re around your people, whether you’re in a meeting room, passing them down the corridor… And it also holds true for how your players feel about each other. “If you’re getting eye contact, you’re getting connection, you’re getting engagement… and everything comes from that.” In Robbie’s experience, “you don’t tend to get eye contact if you don’t have respect. We want that level of honesty and that comfort, to have a context where players and management are comfortable being challenged.” "Whether things are going well, whether they're not going well, the eyes are the giveaway." So, how do you know when you’re doing a good job? Let us know in the comments ?? -- Like this? Follow for more leadership insights from the world’s most legendary rugby coaches and players.

?? #TouchlineTakeaway of the day with #Teekay Today, we reflect on an insightful post by Cody Royle - featuring Carlo Ancelotti’s timeless leadership wisdom. Follow Cody Royle for more insights on the books he explores. "Your job isn’t to motivate the talent – they should find this within themselves. Your job is to not demotivate them." - Carlo Ancelotti #Ancelotti’s approach to managing some of the world’s greatest players teaches us a vital lesson: Great leaders create environments where talent thrives, not where it’s stifled. #Takeaway for Life and Leadership: 1. #Empowerment, Not Micromanagement: As leaders, our role isn’t to push people to greatness but to remove obstacles that hinder their natural drive. Whether in sports, the workplace, or personal relationships, empowerment is the key to unleashing potential. 2. #Self-#Motivation Matters: True greatness comes from within. Cultivating intrinsic motivation in yourself or your team leads to sustainable success. Leaders can foster this by setting clear goals and celebrating progress. 3. The #Power #of #Trust: Ancelotti’s success lies in trusting his players to rise to the occasion. When we extend trust to those we lead, we inspire confidence and create a culture of accountability. As I explore in my upcoming book, Unleash Your Potential, effective leadership is about creating conditions where people feel confident, respected, and inspired to perform at their best. Let’s strive to lead in a way that encourages growth without dampening ambition. ?? What’s your biggest takeaway from Ancelotti’s leadership style? Let’s discuss below! #Leadership #Empowerment #Motivation #IntrinsicDrive #GrowthMindset #TouchlineTalkWithTeekay #RefuseToBeAverage #SportsLeadership #UnleashYourPotential #TogetherWeAre1

Meet Chris Fagan ?? , the coach of the Brisbane Lions AFL team, who just led his team to a Grand Final victory. ?? At 63, he’s the oldest coach to achieve this and the first to win without playing at the elite level. ?? But what truly sets Fagan apart is his leadership style. Fagan is a game-changer. Rather than coaching in the traditional sense, he guides, mentors, and manages his players, helping them harness their unique strengths for the benefit of the team. His leadership is a reminder that great leaders don’t mould people into their image—they empower them to be their best selves. It took eight years, with five finals appearances before securing the title. Patience, trust, and focusing on team culture were key. In an era of instant gratification, where success is expected quickly, the Brisbane Lions could have easily replaced Fagan when results weren’t immediate. Instead, they believed in the process, improving year after year. ??♀? This valuable lesson applies to both personal growth and the corporate world—consistent effort and a mindset of continuous improvement lead to lasting success. Whether in sports or in business, like at Midson Finvest, building trust, long-term partnerships, and staying committed to the process of growth are key ingredients for success. At Midson Finvest, ?? we believe in empowering our clients and focusing on sustainable, long-term strategies that deliver high yields—because just like the Lions, patience and persistence pay off. And remember, even Rome wasn’t built in a day... but we’re pretty sure they didn’t have Fagan coaching! ?? #LeadershipLessons #TrustTheProcess #TeamCulture #ContinuousImprovement #Patience #ChrisFagan #BrisbaneLions #MidsonFinvest #CorporateGrowth https://lnkd.in/gFVMnyek
