Does it? When you get into a sales job, some qualities are uncommon for an average person. Hard mentality but a soft personality. As a salesperson, you eat rejections at breakfast, you eat ghosting at lunch, and you eat both at dinner. Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper company because he was not creative enough. He later founded Walt Disney Company, one of the world's leading entertainment and information companies. It's tough but that is what makes a salesperson special. You get tough but considerate. You get aggressive, but strategic. But one thing that separates a salesperson from an average man is their ability to express a clear thought. Salespersons are articulate enough to close and turn deals. Speaking clearly is a power that not everyone has. If you think you have these qualities, you know what suits you now. Morning y’all, We are about to begin a hiring search for an Event Sales Coordinator position for our Team & it’s moments of transition or expansion we are reminded of three keys to Team Building when identifying characteristics in those we add; 1) Seek Intelligence - People follow smart people. - When we see someone intelligent do something we wouldn’t normally pick up on, we stop and wonder what do they know that we don’t & then challenge ourselves to learn more. 2) Find Divergent Thinkers - It’s hard to stand firm against popular opinion. - We feel pressure to compromise, and it’s easy at such times to lose perspective of what’s important to cling to & what isn’t. - Standing your ground when you are right about something important and being able to admit when you are wrong are both virtues… but “Being stubborn is only a virtue when you are right.” 3) Value Competitiveness above all else - We can Coach the rest. - We can Coach right & wrong, strategy & tactics, reading the room & second order thinking, but we can’t Coach a Competitive nature. - Being Competitive is nurtured over time out of an environment of commitment, sacrifice & discipline. I’m honored to serve a Team everyday that is full of individuals who possess each of these characteristics & who truly love one another.
