Happy Indigenous People's Day, everyone! This week we take a day to honor the people who lived with this land before colonization while many of us are recovering from the joy and connection of #SFTechWeek. The alignment of events is a great opportunity to set aside some time to reflect on the impact of our work in our communities. Are our current projects and practices fundamentally regenerative or extractive? Are we working in community with those around us, in both our industry and others, or operating individualistically to a fault? Do our teams, projects, and processes reflect the identities, needs, and experiences of those who use them? I challenge each of you reading this to take 5-10 minutes today or another day this week to find one iterative change, even just a small tweak, to one or more of your organization's processes to make outcomes more just.
