I've gotten quite a few questions about this demo over the past weeks, so I want to address the most important ones: Q: "Why is this an agent anyway? Seems like an ITSM RPA workflow like you've demo'd in the past." A: This demo workflow is agentic because it uses 1) GenAI activities to process the input, which is unstructured issue description in an IT ticket. No keyword search, no regex, no human necessary, and 2) context grounding to keep the GenAI activity generation relevant to my business and my IT ticketing history. Neither of these things were possible in the past. Q: "You show two possible paths taken by the agent depending on the issue in the ticket. Isn't this just a tree of if-then statements with RPA workflows at the leaves?" A: "An AI agent is different from such a decision tree. Yes it has workflows as tools to perform actions, but it selects the workflows based on information gathered from the context (in this demo, from the IT ticket and RAG content). This expands the capabilities far beyond RPA demos of the past, because a growing library of issue-solving workflows will expand the agent's ability to resolve issues autonomously, very quickly, and an agent with many tools is stronger than an RPA workflow with many if-statements."
