A huge congratulations to Michael Matias Natalie Fridman Gil Avriel Amit Grant Doron Ish-Shalom and the entire Clarity team on this raise. It is so very critical that we increase funding into solving for and strengthening information integrity, quality, and transparency (IQT) across domains. This?problem &?mission on which the Clarity team is focused grows more important every day. With the announcement by OpenAI today of https://openai.com/sora #sora, it only highlights the critical aspects of being able to provide transparency and clarity around the information that is flooding across our digital environments. Importantly, the work that Clarity is doing is not and should not be treated in the same vein of typical startup or (enterprise) software land organization. It's easy for us to think that here's another startup announcing a raise. This, and the other solutions & entrepreneurs working in this space, are working towards solving problems that are existential threats to our democracies, our societies, our decision making, our institutions, and our relationships. In typical enterprise software world success is so often coin-operated sales motions with rah rah sales meetings, etc. The issues we face in this space demands a new era of software responsibility, sales motions, and celebrations. Moreover, make no mistake, while Clarity and a small handful of others have raised $$ to address the problems, they are massively out-gunned (out-capitalized) by the problem creator $$ that have been pouring into this space. The analogy would be us pouring massive amounts of $$ into the creation of deadly pathogens while providing only small hand-outs for those trying to stave off life-ending diseases. I've said before that I want to live in a world where we have an IBOM (Information Bill of Materials) for everything we consume in the digital sphere (whether personally or within business or healthcare or national security or...insert domain). The work that Clarity is doing is an important step in enabling that. 1st week reflections ? As I come to the end of my first week back, it's been interesting to compare the McGrathNicol of today to when I worked here 16 - 20+ years ago. 1. Our leaders are so varied and well-traveled they have met from the likes of Barack Obama through to Saddam Hussein, Greg Norman to Tiger Woods, and Mick Jagger to Bono! 2. Today's firm has substantially grown its corporate advisory practice: - Forensics in particular is much bigger, with a comprehensive cyber arm.? - We now have deal and transactions teams for the investor community, and also strategy and performance services that can help all businesses.? - We have some great data analytics capabilities and my friends in the ACT are running an awesome government advisory practice. - These broad service offerings complement and augment our original restructuring foundations, that remain as strong as ever. 3. The commitment to diversity is REAL.? - McGrathNicol are recording, analyzing and sharing the data on our progress; - diversity and inclusion is one of our five strategic pillars; - employee support practices, benefits and policies have been enhanced; - targets have been set, monitored and refreshed;? - and perhaps most importantly, diversity remains on the day-to-day agenda and part of active, open and current discussions. 4. What hasn't changed: - the super friendly, collaborative and supportive culture.? - The commitment to client service, problem solving and uncompromising excellence. - The permeating humility and self-deprecating humour that belies the incredible experience, expertise and track record that the team can boast across all of our disciplines. Everyone has made me feel so welcome, and I want to thank all those who have supported my smooth return. It's feels amazing to be back, I am super proud to be part of this team again and I can't wait to start contributing.
