Global aid for pre-primary education has increased by 40% between 2021 and 2022, reaching $282 million, the highest recorded. This rise is primarily driven by the World Bank. Funding is still far below the international target of 10% of education budgets. Disproportionate allocation of funds, lack of strategic investment, and focus on middle-income countries leave millions of vulnerable children without access to quality early education. To bridge the gap, it is crucial for donors and governments to prioritize funding for pre-primary education to ensure that all children have access to quality early childhood development. ?? Exciting to see such a significant increase in global aid for pre-primary education! It's a step in the right direction, but as you rightly pointed out, there's still work to be done to reach the international target and ensure equitable access for all children. Prioritizing funding and strategic investment is key to paving the way for a brighter future for the next generation.
