"When notification at the right time is not enough" - Matthias Rehm and my paper is published where we share our lessons learned during the co-creation of a reminder robot with and for people with memory impairment. The robot failed due to a too narrow understanding of reminding. We can see this narrow understanding of reminding (as a trigger-reaction model) in many projects on reminding robots and we hope that our model for a more holistic understanding of reminding can inspire them. You can find the paper here: https://lnkd.in/df4ecCQk Aalborg Robotics Challenge - Human Robot Interaction Lab #HRI #reminderrobots #memoryimpairment

Prof. Yi (Joey) Zhou?from School of Robotics, Hunan University presented?his work Event-based Visual Inertial Velometer?in conference of Robotics: Science and Systems?#RSS2024 at TU Delft. They proposed a novel design of state estimator using event-based cameras and IMU?to solve the motion blur effect by standard camera. With the help of NOKOV #Mocap, the real-world experiments show that the proposed method can achieve state-of-the-art performance in terms of linear velocity estimation accuracy.?Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gy88GxmW

?? Thrilled to announce the completion of "Modern Robotics Course 2: Robot Kinematics" ?? from Northwestern University! This journey into the fascinating world of robotics kinematics has been both challenging and enlightening. Here's what I delved into: ?? Product of Exponentials Formula: Mastered the art of forward kinematics in both the space frame and end-effector frame, unlocking precision in robot motion. ?? Velocity Kinematics: Explored space and body Jacobians to analyze motion and statics in open chains. Gained insights into singularities and manipulability, crucial for efficient robotic design. ?? Inverse Kinematics: Learned both analytical and numerical approaches, enabling precise control over robotic movements. ?? Closed Chains: Studied forward and inverse kinematics, velocity kinematics, and statics for closed-chain systems, broadening my understanding of complex robotic configurations. This course has deepened my appreciation for the mathematical and practical aspects of robotics and set the stage for tackling even more advanced topics. Excited to apply these skills to innovative projects and explore the endless possibilities in robotics! #Robotics #Kinematics #ModernRobotics #Innovation
