Excited to have a LIV Golf event so close to home. I have been to both PGA and LIV events, here's my opinion. Most times.... LIV events are more entertaining whereas PGA events are more professional (unless its the Waste Management) I think it also depends on what you define as entertaining. For me, the Masters is the most entertaining tournament but its due to the tradition of the event. If you enjoy a tournament that will have fireworks on the first tee, dance music all over the course, drone shows, and an overall party atmosphere then LIV is your answer. I recommend LIV events for people who are just diving into the sport. Overall the main differences lie in tournament formats, financial structure, approach to the sport, etc. The PGA Tour is rooted in tradition and whereas LIV Golf positions itself as a more exclusive and financially rewarding alternative. What's your go to event, LIV or PGA?

Last year, only 37% of New England Country Club’s golfers were finishing on pace. Tagmarshal’s pace of play management system helped them get that number to 84% within 3 months. New England CC partnered with Tagmarshal to: - Improve course flow for their members and players - Reduce their average round time - Gather data to aid better decision-making. That 47% improvement in pace meant that 827 rounds were positively impacted in one month alone, leading to an enhanced player experience for hundreds of golfers. Happy golfers = repeat play, positive referrals and increased spend at on-course facilities. Chip Hierlihy, PGA, the Fieldstone Golf Club GM, recently said, “If you’re not part of what’s current in technology today to optimize your business, then you’re really missing the boat.” There’s a reason more than 500 courses around the world, including 2024 Major hosts Pinehurst and Valhalla, trust Tagmarshal to help them with their pace of play and on-course operations.

Agreed! Customer acquisition/creation was at an all time high and it slowing shouldn't be a surprise or scare anyone. Customer retention is the solution. Moving a customer through the progression simply ensures a forever golfer that will continue the cycle of invitation. No doubt in my mind the collaboration of companies that are involved in the progression will ensure the health and growth of our game. You know I am biased, but PGA professionals creating shot euphoria is the connective tissue and bones of the progression. Hire more charismatic knowledgeable PGA golf coaches and every business in each level of the progression/funnel will flourish.
It's been an interesting week after the Topgolf Callaway Brands "strategic alternatives" announcement and a few people reached out to me asking what is going on or I expect to happen there. ? Honestly, I don't really know. However, I do know Topgolf (and COVID) have been some of the biggest drivers of golf's growth over the last 5+ years. ? We look at golf as a progression for new golfers: 1?? Topgolf - Entertainment Golf. Top of the funnel. Brings new people into the game. Is it really golf? ??♂? 2?? Golf Ranch - Golf Lite. The bridge. Give golfers of every skill level an accessible place to practice and play. Is it really golf? Toptracer is the same technology you see when you watch professional golf (and TMRW Sports / TGL)! 3?? Golf Courses - Golf. The end point. Intimidating, difficult, frustrating... and the place every golfer aspires to be. ? For this reason (and golf as a whole), I hope either Callaway or whoever is the long-term owner of Topgolf is able to improve the business and continue investing in sustainable growth. ? Golf is in one of the healthiest positions it has been in a long time, and it will continue to evolve. ? We are excited to continue investing into the space to grow Golf Ranch. New Post: Maxfield Shoots from the Hip - https://lnkd.in/gBqMFC82 Golf Industry FederationBirmingham, England: In the latest episode of GBQ TV, host Sarah Stirk speaks to PGA of Great Britain and Ireland Chief Executive Robert Maxfield on a wide range of topics. PGA of Great Britain and Ireland Chief Executive Robert Maxfield. Birmingham, England: Having worked at The PGA of Great Britain and Ireland \(GB&I\) since 2006, and serving as Chief Executive for the last seven years, Robert Maxfield has been part of huge changes at the governing body. But how does he look back on his tenure so far and what are his big aspirations for the coming years? In the latest episode of GBQ TV, host Sarah Stirk speaks to Maxfield on a wide range of topics, including: How PGA Members are at the heart of everything the Association does and wants to achieve in the future. How the role of the professional has changed and how it will continue to evolve. How PGA Excel is allowing PGA Members to zero in on their skills and abilities and maximise them. Maxfield also discusses how golf is changing, with the Covid pandemic creating a participation boom as well as driving different habits. The value of coaching in the modern world, how formats need to evolve and how technology will play its part and whether golf businesses can use AI to their advantage are also addressed. At the head of a business that represents more than 8,000 members, Maxfield is in the perfect place to give an expert opinion. He said: “Look at the IPSOS \(market research company\) study. The figures speak for themselves. There is a massive proportion now that are engaged and interested in golf. “I think 22 million people – that’s a huge percentage of the population – have engaged in some type of golf. That might be watching golf on the TV. It might have been reading about it. “Sixteen million have had a golf club in their hand at least once a year over the year that we tracked it, of which 11 million have never played on a golf course. Six million have played traditional golf. That’s nine, 18, or members of clubs, and many of them aren’t nowadays. “That’s 11 million people that are now engaged in golf in some form. It might be putting through a dinosaur. It might be smashing balls on a range. That’s huge. “And to me, if we say: ‘Well, you’re only a golfer if you’re on a golf course’, I don’t think that’s right. If you’ve got a club in your hand and you were playing on the driving range two or three times a week – my kids have got friends of theirs that only play on driving ranges – I think they are golfers. What else are they?” *To watch the interview, please click this link: https://lnkd.in/gn35jtVD **The PGA of Great Britain and Ireland is an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Indust
