In 2023, the MENA-3 video game market (Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Egypt) hit $1.92 billion in revenue, and according to Niko Partners, it’s set to grow to $2.9 billion by 2028. Mobile gaming dominates, with 87.2% of gamers playing on smartphones, averaging 8.7 hours per week. Esports is also making waves, with organizations growing fast and becoming more structured. Dubai is taking massive steps to support gaming talent, including the Dubai Gaming Visa—a first-of-its-kind visa aimed at attracting gaming professionals and creators to establish themselves in the region.
