This really is a huge step forward. Anthropic has already given a lot of the base code needed to implement this and I can think of so many ways this can be used. QA Automation - Being able to simulate different variable behaviors and being able to give more open ended requests to interact with elements will give greater insights into usability and error testing. Users with disabilities - From vision or interaction assistance, I can see this helping so many people who would otherwise have to rely on dedicated hardware and slow systems to interact with everyday sites. Customer Support - Think of the ability to self help on a normal Google search of "How to round the amount in a column in excel" - to "Round all the dollar amounts to the nearest dollar in column C in this excel sheet." I'm really looking forward to seeing how people implement this technology and hopefully making it something that helps others. Thanks for the shout out Zak Perez - I'm working on setting up a VM to test this on in an isolated environment to start. Let's see what kind of cool SEO ideas we can come up with that it can do for us!
This is crazy! Claude's Computer Use Functionality gives us a preview at what is becoming possible with new models. Claude can navigate UIs like we do - clicking buttons, filling forms, and handling complex workflows.
