5 places to find stories for your year-end appeal you might not have considered: 1. Staff or volunteer passion – Share why they’re deeply committed to your cause. 2. Shared experiences – Even if donors didn’t benefit directly from your programs, they can relate to similar experiences, like attending a camp, school, or community center. 3. Hidden impact – Highlight something most people take for granted but your organization consistently provides for beneficiaries. 4. Unexpected partnerships – Showcase how unique collaborations have amplified your reach. 5. Today is Giving Tuesday - please consider donating today and see if your company will match your donation! I am not curing cancer, housing the homeless, preventing abuse, or saving the planet from global warming. I'm not, and Girls on the Run is not. What I am doing is raising awareness on what Girls on the Run can do, and what we get to do is take a girl who is incredible at her core and help her discover her potential. SO WHAT? We believe that if girls are given a "how to be a great person" toolkit, which includes strong values, belief in ability, kindness toward others, and giving back to their community, maybe, just maybe, it will be these very same girls who DO in fact · find a cure for cancer · solve the homeless issue · find ways to prevent abuse and neglect · or slow climate change Like education, investing in a long-term solution for societal ills seems wise. Building self-esteem and establishing motivation to give back seem like great starting points. Why does this all matter? I'm asking you today to please consider giving to support my commitment to raise $3000 for GOTRLA.
